Year 3 – Week 52 – Day 3

Twins vs. Slinky

That picture kind of sums up the day too. Brendan is sick. He had a really rough night and today his little nose was running like a faucet and he just had that horrible little tickly constant cough. He was so tired and just wanted to be held all day.

After sleeping in my bed all night so that I could keep him elevated and reassure him when he woke up drippy and coughing, Trevor actually seemed less congested this morning. He said he was feeling better. But by evening, he was crying about how much his tummy hurt. After a couple of hours of squirming and crying, he finally pooped on the potty. (potty!!) He was so exhausted from the ordeal that he all but passed out on the couch and I could barely get his jammies on before he was out cold.
As I tucked him in bed, without even opening his eyes, he said “but I have to build my excavator…” and then was out.
(He earned his little Lego kit for his success)

We had a nice little rainstorm this evening and the boys are asleep so we just have to hope that Monday is nice to us all.

  1. Oh no! Poor Brendan. 🙁 I hope it will be a short one and both boys feel better very soon.
I like your picture of the slinky! 🙂 I loved my slinky when I was a kid. You don’t have a flight of stairs to send it down. I’m trying to imagine how it got to looking that way!
Lots of love and get well hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. Good morning from the East Coast!! Poor Brendan!! Hoping that this malady passes quickly through your family!! Trevor pooped on the potty!!! Terrific!! Also hoping that Mom and Dad are able to rest enough to care for the boys! Thinking of you!! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂

    🙂 🙂 🙂 😉 That’s not the first time I’ve seen a Slinky in that condition 😮 😉
🙁 They never seem to be able to recover 😮
Children, on the other hand, can and do recover, and I hope Brendan, and Trevor both, recover from whatever is causing their illness, . . . quickly!

Three Fridays until “setup” for Trainfest 🙂 I have a few things to finish building before then. A “few” more Lobster pots for ( http://bigbluetrains.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=7627 ) ( two pages ) and, I hope, the rigging on the last of the sloops.
