Happy third birthday to my awesome little boys!

We started the day with opening presents. Some new garden tools meant that we had to dig in the mud.

The boys “helped” make their own cakes. Brendan ATE, CRUNCHED, CHEWED, and SWALLOWED some mini M&Ms. All caps are required here. He had several and loved them!!

Cake time! Trevor really enjoyed his candles. Brendan was abundantly clear that he wanted NO CANDLES. The funny thing is that Brendan liked Trevor blowing out candles and was even practicing his blowing before we started to bring in his cake.

And of course we had to do a photo shoot. It seems like such a disaster while it is happening. Everyone works so hard to try to get the boys to cooperate and nothing goes quite as planned. It was exhausting!! Bill and Gramma get a lot of credit for these great shots!

Bill got a gift for the boys’ birthday too. Brendan gave him a black eye (with his head!)

The last day of the year is here. Trevor ran around this morning asking for his birthday party. Brendan is doing a little better.
We spent most of the day prepping for our 3yr-old photo shoot, getting stuff for birthday cake, and just entertaining an under-the-weather Brendan.

We didn’t have big plans, it was a day of staying at home and just letting Brendan rest. Trevor seemed pretty tired all day too, he really needed a nap but skipped it.

I was trying to convince Trevor to model his new big boy underwear with rockets on it, but he wouldn’t. Brendan pulled them on all by himself – over his onesie and diaper. He looked pretty silly with his “baby-sized” frozen coke and his “outerwear”.

We got him a fresh pair of undies, but even the smallest size is too baggy for his no-butt.

Great-Aunt Letty and Great-Uncle Rich sent a birthday package that arrived today. Trevor and Gramma built the construction site floor puzzle three times while Brendan took his nap. They love the stuff!

And the cards were a big hit too… the after-bath antics tonight were spirited. I think Aunt Letty must have laced the cards with too many exclamation points full of energy.
