Year 3 – Week 50 – Day 5

Today was rough from start to finish. Two crabby toddlers were crying, resisting, defying, slapping, falling, crashing, yelling, and more.

I took them out shopping pretty much all day – not to buy anything, just to get away from the house and provide some distraction. We checked out a new dollar store which was totally unimpressive except they had these perfect little hand baskets that could also be wheeled like a cart. I would have bought a few of them for $1.

Year 3 – Week 50 – Day 4

I was checking the pomegranate tree today. Our little shrub has over 100 nearly ripe fruit on it this year.

I jumped halfway to the moon when I saw what initially looked like a scorpian sitting right on the fruit I was reaching for and nearly touched.

Upon closer inspection, I realized it was two bugs mating. When I used Google to query “bugs mating on pomegranate”, it immediately returned Leptoglossus zonatus or Leaf Footed Bugs. I had never heard of them until now.

Trevor spent the afternoon outside digging. Then he was swinging and pouring grass and dirt between two big cups at the same time. The condemned house down the street finally had the neglected pool in the backyard drained so maybe our mosquito situation will start to improve. They are so thick right now!

Brendan continues to love his raspberries and his pouches. He nibbles berries like a little squirrel, but he is eating them. He also shows off how he is enjoying his pork lo mein noodles. (just licking, not eating)
