Year 4 – Week 3 – Day 4

Happy Veterans Day to all of the vets we know and love, and thank you for your service!

Our day was simple. Yesterday Trevor helped Bill fix his truck.

He asked all morning if he could go out in to the garage and work on it again. We had to go to the playground to distract him. The high today was 85, it is hard to believe the snow is coming already back east.

We are ready for snow now! It is on our to-do list to take the boys up to northern AZ this winter and let them play in real snow. I found a great deal plus a super coupon combination and got the boys each some bibbed snow pants and snow jackets with boots. I am hoping they are just the right size to fit them this year and next year for snow-cations before they get passed to cousins who might really get some wear out of them!!
Trevor was not wanting to try them on, but Brendan thought it made him a robot, and he ran around in them with the swishy noise they make. Even in just the bibs, he was sweating so much when I took them off!

Can’t stop puff-legs the robot!

Bill went out for his free meal at our favorite brewery and swapped stories with some other vets. The boys helped me make some fresh hummus for dinner.

Trevor became infatuated with the garlic press

I don’t need a food processor. Trevor was going to press each chickpea by hand. yummm.

The end result was too spicy for the boys but they really love helping.

  1. You don’t know how nice sunshine and summer clothes look right now! We are barely going to get about freezing! We aren’t supposed to see 40 degrees until the 24th of November! Brrrrrr! It’s much too cold and much too early for this.
Trevor is quite a mechanic! I’m sure Daddy got done with the truck much sooner with his help. What would you do without the boys helping you in the kitchen? 😉
Brendan is adorable in his snow pants. I can’t wait to see what he’ll think of snow. Trevor will probably love it once he sees it. He loved his taste of winter and snow here last year,. If he hadn’t gotten sick, he could have played in snow a lot more.
Since this is already the 12th as I write this, I want to wish Aunt Erin a Happy 30th Birthday!! Boy, am I getting old! 🙂
Lots of love and hugs to my little mechanic, and the little robot living at your house!

  2. Bill and Trevor look so cute under the truck together. I am sure Trevor was rattling off tool names as he “helped” Bill out 🙂 I am super excited to see how Brendon likes the snow. He is a champ with popsicles and used to like the other cold stuff we offered for the most part. Man, our high will be 39 today. I wish you could ship a ball of sunshine my way lol. Life is strange without all the sun, but cold is our new norm. I hope Bill enjoyed his meal. Send him a thanks for his service from Ohio!

  3. Good morning from the East Coast!! 63 degrees right now!! Woo-Hoo….however, soon to be but a memory! 🙁 Thank you from Uncle Rich and cousin Michael and hugs to Bill!! Trevor is adorable under the truck with Bill. He takes his repairs very seriously!! 🙂 Snow gear?? Brendan is so cute in his snow pants! Cannot wait to see the boys playing in the snow!! We will love seeing that blog, however visions of last winter will flash across our brains and we may cringe! LOL!! Tell Trevor he can make humus for us, anytime! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂

  4. I went to a “Chilli cook-off” last night, by the time it was over the temps had fallen through the floor, and the wind was howling. It was bitter cold. I was surprised at how many of the chilli recopies were actually fairly mild. There were a couple of them, though, that were “burn-your-face-off” hot. Funny, they didn’t do a thing for the cold of that wind.
“Puff-legs the Robot!” 🙂 🙂 and “Trevor the Mechanic” 😉 if that Robot ever breaks down, there’s a “Mechanic” to fix it.(( even if it doesn’t want to be fixed at that moment 😮 😉 ))
