Year 4 – Week 9 – Day 6

It was a very non-traditional holiday for us this year. We had a wonderful dinner with friends last night and the boys got to open some presents, play with other bigger kids, and be silly in someone else’s house. Today we just tried to relax and not worry about anything, but that always seems to backfire.

We continued our playground exploration with a new park. We will call this one “the one with the airplanes” because of its proximity to the airport.

Trevor kept saying, “Gramma is on that airplane.” Then he finally told me that Gramma lives on an airplane. I bet she felt that way for a while!

Trevor’s had a lot of practice on his own “combo” so he is getting good at these diggers.

I was trying to take a selfie with Brendan on my shoulders, but it just doesn’t work well with my giant camera. 🙂

We took this tree down in our backyard years ago, and today Bill just felt inspired to dig out the stump. With help, of course.

Last night, I saw a news story about the International Space Station being visible on Christmas Eve in the evening. The idea of the story was to take your kids out and look for it and then convince them it was Santa. I am not sure how I feel about that whole thing, but I did think it would be cool to show the boys the station. It was cloudy last night, but tonight was a better location anyway.

I think the boys liked the experience. They were excited about it, even though it was just a moving dot of light.

It might dip below freezing here tonight or tomorrow overnight. I hope everyone everywhere is warm and happy. Merry Christmas!

  1. Hahaha! Trevor thinks Gramma lives on a plane! He’s picked me up and taken me to the airport so many times, I’m not surprised! 🙂 I’ll have to figure out when I can land in AZ again. 😉
It looks like you found an interesting playground to explore. And it’s a good thing Daddy has so much help, or he may never get that stump out! 🙂
Brendan sure knows out make chocolate go a long way. What a face!
You got a cool picture of the space station. That’s nice that the boys got to see it in person.
Freezing there? We aren’t going to have freezing here tonight! Tomorrow will be 50! Something sounds a little mixed up! I’m sure will pay for this very mild Christmas very soon.
Merry Christmas! Lots of love and hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. Had an excellent Christmas breakfast at Aunt Erin’s, and , then, a superb Christmas dinner at Aunt Heather K’s, followed by an evening of Poker.
Had to laugh when I saw that picture of “Professor Brendan” sitting on the tree stump, looking like he was presenting a lecture. 🙂 😉
As soon as I have had my morning coffee, it will be time to load the modules in the trailer, and the car, along with all the “other stuff”, and get over to the Lake County Fairgrounds for this weekend’s Train Show.
I’m going to have to install one of those “Stair Climbers”……no, not for me (yet)
but for the modules. Either age has taken my strength, or the modules have “been eating too much”. Yeah, that’s it, the modules have to “go on a diet”
    😉 😮 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day!! Just loved all the “tunnel” pictures!!! You certainly have a lot of playgrounds to explore!! What fun!! have to laugh over Trevor’s comments about Gramma and the airplanes!! Too cute!! One pretzel and Brendan could accomplish that?? Amazing!! Brendan, you too are too cute!!! The space station picture is really great! I have tried night time sky pictures with no success…you have a really good camera and inner talent!! Hope you stay warm!!! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂

  4. Merry Christmas to all! It looks like you have a good time at the playground and stump digging. Hope you all are resting and recovering from all that illness!
