Year 4 – Week 26 – Day 3

It was all about the driving today. We peeled the boys out of their beds and put them straight in to their car seats, hitting the road at 5:30am. It was a stay-in-pajamas-all-day day.

They were exceptionally good in the car, we just make stops in wide open places to stretch and snack and look around. The lunch stop today was “World’s Biggest Dinosaurs”. It get cheesier and cheesier every time I visit.

Brendan was not interested AT ALL. He wanted to get away from the dinosaurs.

You can pay to go up in the head of the T-Rex. (we did not)

There is plenty of cuteness on the ground

  1. There is definitely a lot of cuteness on the ground! 🙂
It’s so nice that you had such a good day. 12 hours on the road is a long day for all of us, let alone 3 year olds!
Dinosaur land looked like a fun place. I guess they seemed just a little too real to Brendan.
What a great adventure for your family! I guess the test will be if it rates up there with IKEA!! 😉 did you bring meatballs? 🙂
I wish I could be there with you. I have not been to California, except to just cross the border to say I was there!
Have a wonderful day having fun. You all deserve it! “Gramma’s house” goes to more exciting places than Gramma!! ha-ha!
Lots and lots of love and safe travels,

  2. I think it is so great that both boys are always ready for a new adventure. I love seeing kids wake up with new anticipation for the day!..Good job Have a great time in California.

  3. I don’t remember things like “World’s Biggest Dinosaur”, but I do remember cranking the siren on an antique fire truck I got to ride on, at the Long Island Automotive Museum in Southampton, and we did have the cottage on Noyac Bay, and could go out there spring and fall ( it was rented out through the summer ). Swimming, Taking the old row boat out on the bay and catching some fish for supper, we’d usually stop on the way out, and get some fresh Strawberries. Ahhhh ! Strawberry Shortcake.
I hope, that when Brendan and Trevor get to my age, they will still have fond memories of the “camping out’, and the trips that were possible because there were campgrounds to go to.

  4. Good morning from the East Coast!! What fun catching up on the boys’ blogs!! Lego store :-), lunch at IKEA, feeding ducks and roofing!! What a fun week…then climbing in the camper heading to California!! Enjoy your trip and making all kinds of wonderful memories!! Will be looking forward to updates on your journey!! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂
