Year 4 – Week 28 – Day 6

We’ve been fighting a little cold virus in our house the last few days. Stuffy noses, restless sleeping, lots of sneezing. Both boys are handling it pretty well and seem to be doing better.

Brendan had trouble making it through dinner on Tuesday. He was so tired.

We got a special delivery today and had a big project to do.

It needed a lot of wrenching

Brendan had to “gear up”. He calls this his safety belt.

Trevor has perfected the “construction guy” pose.

I still laugh when a mattress gets delivered in a small box. It is not just foam, it has pocketed coils. But it is vacuumed down and rolled up.

Brendan looks nervous

Tada!!

They have already had a stuffed animal war between the beds.

Brendan’s first night sleeping in this new bed will be tomorrow night, just as a trial. It will be interesting to see how Trevor does with it and how much they are both up in the night. Going forward, he will only be in this bed “as tolerated” the nights that we don’t have a nurse.
Otherwise he will still be sleeping in the living room.

This gives him his own space for quiet time during the day as well. He was really excited about it.

  1. Good job BRENDAN.. I am assisting with KG this year and at the beginning of School most of them did not know how to spell or say their names. Great job Mom!

Room is beautiful so nice to see that they are sharing! You all are in my daily prayers.

  2. What a great milestone the boys have reached….sharing the bedroom that you had set up for them before they were born! Only there are bigger beds for bigger boys! 🙂
Brendan looks so excited. He has come so far, and there was a time when it seemed like this day would never get here, being able to sleep in his bedroom in a big boy bed, with his brother! I hope both boys will like it and do well being together.
This has been a year of many changes…long family vacations, Brendan talking and “eating” and no more ventilator, and preschool! Yay for Brendan, and yay for Trevor helping to give Brendan someone to learn from.
I’ve been missing the boys and my trips to AZ very much.
Lots of love and big hugs,
    Gramma xoxoxo

  3. Good morning from the East Coast!! What an amazing post!! They have the sniffles….well we know why!! The prevailing westerlies now must be the Easterlies and you are sharing in the pollen blown in from the East Coast!! The papers describe it as “the tsunami of pollen” !! It can be swept up and one can see their footprints on the driveway!! Yuck!! Love Brendan’s safety belt and Trevor’s construction man stance!! Too cute!! And sharing a bedroom!!! Yippee!! 🙂 Hoping that the transition will go smoothly! Looking forward to the boys, being boys and sharing in all the silly adventures in their shared room! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂

  4. Shared bedrooms…….Until my Dad converted the sun-porch, of the Copiague house, into a fourth bedroom, Uncle Robert and I shared the upstairs front bedroom, and Aunt Letty had the upstairs back bedroom. Once our parents had the “new” bedroom, Aunt Letty was able to move into their old down stairs room, and I finally got my own room. That took some “getting used to”.
Hope Brendan and Trevor enjoy the sharing, it can be fun.
