Year 4 – Week 35 – Day 6

Brendan had a test in Nuclear Medicine today at the hospital. They are testing motility in his gut, all as part of the big picture to get him eating real food.
They filled his tummy with his formula mixed with a small amount of radioactive medicine, and then they watched it move through his system.

The problem is that it meant being trapped in this machine for an hour and twenty minutes.

The camera stayed at that angle the whole time, and Brendan was strapped in with three really wide velcro pads.

He really did not like it. He kept saying, “I am stuck.” and “Let’s get out of here!”

With enough Youtube videos and playing with his Iron Man guy he brought, he did relax some. It was a long wait.

Trevor stayed home and played Legos with Daddy.

Now we wait for results.

Bill and I are both tired. He is still fighting the cold. The boys are bursting with energy though, so we have to have exercise time. Today was the ninja hour. (Plus, we got a soft new area rug! Wooo!)

  1. Poor Brendan! It’s so hard to be still and confined for 80 minutes! I hope his test results come in soon and it’s good news. I had one of those tests years ago, and it feels like it will never end, and it’s very claustrophobic. Good job, Brendan! 🙂
What a nice new rug! Those are some crazy ninja maneuvers! If I did those, I’d break a hip or something! 😉
Today is Aunt Lillian’s 95th birthday. Aunt Heather and the girls, and Aunt Erin and the boys, and I are going to take her pizza and birthday cake for lunch. She loves cheese and sausage pizza and lemon cake! It’s a treat for her since she cannot leave her house anymore.
Lots of love and big hugs, and a big well done, Brendan!

  2. Brendan, I have a pretty good knowledge of what it was like, ” being trapped in that machine”, I recently had an MRI done……..it was NOISY, and there was no room to move 😮 😮 😉

  3. Good morning from the Lake House!! Whoa…those ninja moves are fierce!! Uncle Rich and I better practice our moves before we finally make our eventual visit!! My heart goes out to Brendan!! Kudos to him (and you!!) for making it through his lengthy test!!! I would need triple doses of valium to make it through! We just know that the results will be good!! 🙂 Hoping Bill feels better soon and all of you escape his microorganisms! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂
