Year 4 – Week 51 – Day 4

The sad news is that there are no Trevor-Daddy Road Trip photos to share. They forgot to pack a camera! Bill did have his helmet video cam, and managed to get a couple of cute videos.

First, daredevil Trevor. A wipe out is nothing when there are a bunch of people to impress.

Then, cutest ever Trevor.

Today, Brendan had an eye doctor appointment. It was challenging to say the least, but the end result was an insurance mess to take care of and an increase in his prescription. We dropped off his existing frames for the upgrade. This time he is going to get some “Transitions” lenses (auto changing to sunglasses). We will see how that goes.

He had to have his eyes dilated, so he got the funky silly glasses to wear out.

After we picked up Trevor at school, we stopped at Jonah and Christine’s house to rescue a caterpillar that was eager to devour their tomato plants. It is a baby green hornworm. The boys were SO excited.

Brendan held it!

When it started to crawl, he was ready to pass it to Trevor

Trevor let it crawl right up his arm and he talked to it like a little baby.

We don’t have any tomato plants to feed to it, so I hope it survives the night in the jar. This thing can decimate tomato gardens and gets about 5 times its current size before it makes its cocoon.

  1. Great pics. If you need help with glasses I have some connections at the Lion’s Club. I can so relate to Brendan and the dilation I get it every year since I was very little as well. Best always

  2. Great-Grandma would have loved to see Trevor on his glider bike. It looks like Daddy and Trevor had a lot of fun. Trevor also got to do some “relaxing”! So cute!
I love all of Brendan’s faces with the sunglasses and with the caterpillar. He is so expressive, and still smiling, even after his eye exam.
I would have loved to hear Trevor talking. He has a soft spot for all living things, no matter how small they are. It would be nice to take a caterpillar to show-and-tell at school, if they allow such things.
Lots of love and big hugs,

  3. Good afternoon from the East Coast!! Trevor is sooooo cute! Just love his determination riding his bike!! What a fun weekend!! The “many faces of Brendan” is equally cute! The little caterpillar looks like the insect version of a unicorn!! Bet it brings good luck…or will eat you out of house and home!! 🙂 The boys responses to the little creature is priceless!! Hoping this finds Brendan improving every day and Trevor still enjoying pre-school!!! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂
