Year 5 – Week 30 – Day 7
Time is flying by!
Brendan had his big meeting with his aero-digestive council (ENT, Pulmonologist, and GI doc all together). They are the team that tries to make the path toward decannulation. There was nothing too special that came out of this meeting. There are going to order another sleep study to try to collect more data and they will add an esophageal impedance test to find out more about his reflux and throwing up issues.
The bad news is that the sleep center called me to schedule and the first available appointment they have is September 20th! Yikes. Guess nothing is happening this summer. We are on the cancellation list if we can get in any earlier.
The boys pass a lot of time playing in the mud and with the hose.
Today was full of excitement because we had a HopeKids event to go to! We took Brendan to see his first real movie – The Angry Birds movie.
I was concerned that we wouldn’t make it the 1.5hrs, but it was a private screening so all of the advertisements and trailers were skipped. The movie just started. Brendan loved every minute of it! He even took off his ear protection and was OK with the volume.
He had watched the trailers so many times that he kept saying, “here comes my favorite part!”
It is just tough when you are not big enough to keep the seat folded down.
Our adventure continued with $10 a person in arcade tokens.
And a game of cosmic bowling for each person! We had to wait a while for a lane so we got some lunch.
The boys did well with bumper bowling. Brendan even got two strikes in a row.
The movie was silly and cute and we had a great outing as a whole family.
The next blog I write might be from Illinois! One week left until road trip time!
Year 5 – Week 29 – Day 1
Happy Mother’s Day!
My boys went outside this morning (this patio is the best thing we have done to this house!). It was nice to have some quiet time but they were “making potions”.
They said they made a “dirt exploding potion”. It worked.
They were dipping brooms in the mud and painting with them. It was awesome.
This seems like a recent theme with Brendan. 🙂
We had a nice quiet mother’s day. We all can’t wait to go see my mom in person so we can celebrate cousinpallooza II!
