Year 7 – Week 32 – Day 4

We helped Gramma to assemble some new rocking chairs for on the front porch today. She needed a few testers to try them out for her.

We made a huge cardboard “vault” out of the boxes from the chairs – and I can’t believe it but I don’t have a picture!!

In the evening, Gramma pulled out an old half-done crochet project so that we could figure out what she was doing with it. Someone decided that the yarn basket looked like the comfiest dog bed!

Year 7 – Week 32 – Day 3

Since the boys are huge fans of the LegoLand Discovery Center at home, we of course had to check out the one in Schaumburg. Ashley came along and we tried to go as soon as they opened.

They had a whole room dedicated to Star Wars! Brendan found an instant buddy.

The brand new $800 set of the latest Millenium Falcon was on display. It is HUGE.

Better angle for scale

Life-size Darth Vader

Our play area is a Lego City police/fire/construction site. Theirs is a big pirate ship! Trevor collected all of the “gold” bricks from the whole play area and built himself a vault of his treasure. Arrrrr!

There is a water play area where you can build and float Lego pirate ships.

There is the same build-a-car area. We built a S.W.A.T. transport truck.

Brendan and Ashley checked out the “sandbox” area where you could build on the sand castle. Trevor was concerned about leaving behind our creation to get destroyed.

We parked it in the castle

Brendan found another favorite character. But the build on the head and hair were so off.. I think we will call him Emmutt.

The jungle room was pretty nicely made.

Of course, there has to be the local “Miniland”.

Brendan wishes we had a layout like this in our house.

That’s no moon…

We enjoyed a little more than an hour of playtime before the school buses arrived in droves. The place filled up with at least 7 schools worth of classes. It got insane. We could hardly stay together. So we had to bail. It is a shame, we could have played for so much longer.

Hot tub every day!
