Year 8 – Week 44 – Day 4

More swimming and underwater photos! This time, we were at the boys’ friend Graham’s birthday party! Happy Birthday, Graham!

Brendan’s reaction time was a little delayed on the “1-2-3 Jump!”

I won’t lie, flips in to pools give me the anxiety goose-bumps. But Trevor is getting good at it.

Year 8 – Week 43 – Day 3

While we were in Illinois, Brendan missed his first Lego Creative Crew meeting. Today was their second monthly meeting out of twelve. Brendan was SO excited.

His first task was to make himself as a minifig!

He received his official Creative Crew t-shirt. And he was assigned a Lego plate on which he could build anything he wanted. He built a park with a tree and an owl nest.

Alec the LegoLand official Master Builder led him through the MiniLand display and Brendan got to pick anywhere he wanted to put his creation.

There it is for everyone who visits LegoLand to see! He felt like a star.

Year 8 – Week 42 – Day 7

I was invited to go on a private charter fishing trip with Christine, her son Johnathon and one of his friends. We were doing a half-day coastal trip out of San Diego. We drove out the previous night and got a small Airbnb condo near the bay.

We set out nice and early. The day was totally gray and overcast, but still. It ended up being PERFECT for being out on the water.

Our boat was a speedy 36’ Hatteras Sportfisher

Christine brought in the first catch of the morning!

Johnathon and I caught the largest fish of the trip

Skinning and divvying up the filets

What better use for Bill’s new griddle?

We deep fried some too. We had it all eaten up in a week. I guess I have to go out again!
