Year 10 – Week 10 – Day 5

More outside time

More Lego time – free building this time

It was another kitchen filled day! Malcolm’s birthday was on the 26th and Kieran’s is on the 1st, so we had CAKE to make. Funfetti white cake for Malcolm

Strawberry cake for Kieran

For the first time in my life, I made homemade marshmallow fondant!

The boys got to sculpt their own dinosaur cake decorations

Shannon is making a large brachiosaurus

She also made this ridiculously cute triceratops

Kieran made a couple dinosaurs that I have never heard of, I will have to follow up with him for the names

Malcolm made this blue one

Malcolm also made the salmon swimming upstream on his waterfall. As soon as he decided on a waterfall cake, he was determined to make “Those orange fish that swim up the water”. He did a great job!

Kieran’s cake had the erupting volcano. We made all of our own buttercream frosting.

Hershey kisses and fondant make a pile of dinosaur poop!

The fondant was pretty soft, so our dinosaurs were all “lazy”. My t-rex is lounging by the water hole because he has no bones.

A quetzalcoatlus is flying around the volcano

We were all pretty excited for dinosaur cakes!

These were super fun AND delicious!

Year 10 – Week 10 – Day 4

There were not as many pictures today because the adults spent a lot of time in the kitchen making our “Thanksgiving” turkey dinner. This time of year, I was only able to find a 21lb turkey! We made all the fixings too and we didn’t take a single pic of it!

The kids kept busy in their bunker

Bill put a Mandalorian on the 3D printer

The boys did a lot of Lego building

They also had a lot of xbox time while Kieran and Malcolm learned how to play Minecraft. They bailed on that pretty fast and switched to “Goat Simulator” and “Human Fall Flat” instead. Lots and lots of giggling followed.

The week is catching up to Trevor and Trooper. We weren’t even ready for lights out.

Year 10 – Week 10 – Day 3

We did not have any plans to go anywhere. We all just wanted to spend time together. They picked the coldest week of the year to show up! But the kids don’t care.

Bill pulled them around the yard in the dump wagon

They built themselves a “bunker”

They were slowly getting used to the dog

I am the Aunt that does haircuts during pandemics! They couldn’t wait to watch some old “Tom and Jerry” cartoons while they got their cuts!

I am nowhere near Gramma level, but they at least can see where they are going!

As long as they got their lollipop at the end, they both were quite cooperative and held still.

While Kieran and Malcolm got their hairs cut, Brendan helped Bill bag up leaves and take them to the dump. They had another special secret mission too.

Kieran showed off his moonwalk

Kieran and Trooper found a new game!

The secret mission was to bring back four hay bales so that the boys could all climb and practice their “parkour”

They used a stick to make a special trapeze seat

Malcolm really loved to get attention from Brendan

Trevor broke out one of his Christmas gifts, a new NERF tennis ball launcher for dogs! The boys had to line up to take turns firing the ball for Trooper.

These faces say everything. This whole crew was DONE

We watched a short movie and got them fed and off to bed!
