A beautiful spring day and a friend that let us borrow his UTV led to some outdoor fun. We took friends Blake, Amber, l’il Blake, and of course doggie Mason to go for a ride. The kids loved it!
Of course, this was equally as thrilling!
Another favorite Hopekids event of ours is the “Owl Picnic”. We try to go every year. It is put on by General Mills and is actually named “Pamela’s Picnic” in honor of the volunteer and organizer who died in 2016.
Each year, the organization ‘Fallen Feathers’ brings out Brendan’s favorite birds.
Digger the burrowing owl
We also get a visit from Skittles the scarlet macaw. This year, we met Sierra. Trevor even got to hold her!
Besides pizza, popcorn, and cotton candy, there are magic shows and crafts and a big playground. It was a perfect day to be in the park!
Brendan had his dental procedure at the hospital today. Because he is not able to tolerate the dentist working in his mouth, they do everything he needs under general anesthesia. They were able to take x-rays, scrape, polish and seal his teeth. At the same time, they were supposed to do all of the bloodwork that he needed. The anesthesiologist said they poked him 14 times even with ultrasound guidance and they were unable to get what they needed for labs.
Bill spent the day with Trevor and decided to try fishing in the canal. Just a can of corn was all they needed to catch a big old carp!
