Year 7 – Week 33 – Day 7

One of the things that the boys really wanted to do on this trip was to ride the train. Instead of taking it all the way downtown, we rode to Glenview and walked to the Kohl Children’s Museum with Erin, Caleb, and Rhys.

Waiting for the train was exciting.

Cousins on a train!

The museum had so much to do to keep a bunch of kids busy for hours. We started off playing with real clay.

The pretend supermarket is always fun

Trevor just wanted to be the cashier

Reading nooks in the “book store”

Inflatable worms. You had to hand pump, pedal, or crank the machines to inflate the big worms.

Video chatting with the cousin sitting right next to him

Strange contraptions

Big music area

My nest of cute little eaglets

Water play area

Rhys being Rhys

Brendan overboard!

Big construction site where the kids could build a house

More Rhys

Taking the train home

Someone does get wiped out eventually!

Lunch at Grammas!

Year 7 – Week 33 – Day 6

We had a few days of just miscellaneous stuff with random pictures.

The boys made sure Gizmo got lots of attention, making him his pillow forts.

Trevor wanted to experiment with his hair!

We went to Costco and through Trevor in to the pile of soft and fluffy things.

We had a graduation dinner at Aunt Heather’s house to celebrate Ashley’s graduation from 8th grade. The boys are wearing “bandoliers”. They are very serious!

Brendan brought Gramma the Lego owl that he designed all by himself. He made it for her when she visited us in November. But he liked it so much, he had to keep it for a while. So he delivered it now.

Year 7 – Week 33 – Day 3

7:30am and Brendan is still sleeping!! He must be worn out. But there is a big day ahead.

Great perks come from a cousin that works at Six Flags Great America! With Kayla’s employee benefits and Ashley’s season pass, we all got in free and didn’t have to pay to park. Woo hoo! Thanks girls!

As soon as we got in the park, the sky broke open and rain poured down. We took shelter in the bumper cars for a while. Big surprise what color Brendan picked.

The cousins were the perfect riding companions for the day!

The rain stopped quickly and never came back. All aboard the Crazy Bus!

Maybe they have grown out of these little rides now..

These apple things were good to ride while I had to stand in line for an hour for lunch

This dropper ride was really fun

Ashley is giving me the face, but I am still grateful that she could take them on the ride. The boys liked driving.

The line for “The Whizzer” was way too long. That is a good first grown up roller coaster. We didn’t want to wait an hour for it, so they rode this kid coaster a few times. Brendan is in the fifth car back with Ashley.

Trevor sat in the back seat with Kayla on the next train.

Trevor had to go again, he loved the ride. Brendan said he liked it too, but once was enough!

Now this is Brendan’s style!

Trevor got this in a photo booth, what a perfect face.

Squid hat!

Brendan found a mood color-changing “Eye of Sauron” necklace he had to have!

At the end of a long day, Kayla carried Trevor to the car. I was carrying Brendan!

It was a good day with the girls and all of their help made it really fun.

Gizmo did not know where the boys went all day! He stayed home and guarded their stuffed animals. He must have known they would come back for their animals.
