Year 4 – Week 9 – Day 1

We have had a busy week. Wednesday and Thursday were great days for the boys. I kept remarking about how good they were being to each other. I thought maybe we had entered in to a new era of brotherly cooperation. They took good naps and had so few meltdowns. It was still exhausting, but much more fun.

Friday was a nightmare. Within 2 minutes of waking up, we were in full screaming fit mode and I never could really figure out what was wrong with anyone. There was hitting, fighting, and so much crying. I get so frustrated with the roller coaster. I haven’t really figured out why the days were so different.
Preschool time in the morning was OK. The teacher brought some cool special scissors that Trevor loved. She left them here for the length of the winter school break, so we will surely use them again.

Today, the boys were divided. Trevor spent a lot of time in the garage with Bill. They rotated the tires on the truck and sorted tools.

They completely disassembled our old broken printer just for fun

Brendan and I ran some errands and had some fun time indoors without Trevor around. We stopped to get him a treat.

I still can’t shake this dumb cough, but I am feeling better. The whole family took a nap today!

Year 4 – Week 8 – Day 4

I spent all morning at Walgreens with Trevor waiting for the health clinic for me. He was such a good boy and I got diagnosed with “croup”. I don’t have the nighttime stridor that Trevor does, but just coughing constantly interrupting sleep. So it is steroids and inhalers for me too.

The afternoon was fun! A giant box arrived with the boys’ Christmas gift from Gramma!
It was an awesome experience to see how excited the boys were. Since Gramma could not be with us to witness the hilarity, I took a long video.

They are really going to get some good use out of this.

Trevor read a construction book to “the combo” at bedtime. Then we tucked it in with a blanket and he gave it a kiss. 😀 😀

Brendan is not quite tall enough to reach the pedals, but he just loves to climb all over it and try to get in Trevor’s way.

Year 4 – Week 8 – Day 3

We had an action packed Monday. It started at 7:30am with a PT session. We are finally back to having regular PT. After Brendan turned three, there was a big transition in services to a new program and we were able to get back his old PT that worked with him as a baby. We were so happy to have him back and Brendan had a great session this morning.

We then had a follow up with Brendan’s eye doctor who was very disappointed with the fact that Brendan was not wearing his glasses all day. It was a very frustrating appointment, and even though there is a lot to say, I will have to save it for another post. The end result is that we really have to work a lot harder to get him to wear his glasses. Admittedly, we have been lenient and it will be a lot more work on our part, but it is important.

After the boys skipped napping, we went grocery shopping, hit Walgreens twice and hit Fedex to ship some boxes. We should all be wiped out, but alas, it is only me.

Mr. Sugarlips must have had too much powdered donut, because he had plenty of energy.

Gimmee a kiss!!

Brendan did wear his glasses quite a lot today. I am being firm about them staying on his face.
He is being dramatic while watching his new favorite movie, “Spike”.

The boys helped Bill do some raking in the lawn. It is still Fall after all. Trevor is helped accelerate the process.

And then we all had to “wind down” this evening with some gentle drumming.
