Year 3 – Week 34 – Day 1

It has been a hectic day as we get ready for an adventurous weekend. 🙂

Brendan has yet another new nurse training today so he has been busy. Having an extra person in the house adds another level of stress to the boys and they can get a little crazy. I have only got this cute spycam picture of Brendan in his strange sleeping position.

Trevor is sensitive to change and gets jealous of the attention that Brendan gets. He has been making giant messes today and attention seeking. He emptied this laundry bin in his closet and hid for a while.

We will be hitting the road as soon as Bill is done with work, heading out to cooler temperatures. Tons of pictures will surely follow…

Year 3 – Week 33 – Day 7

It is going to be a post full of Brendan close-ups today, but here is the token Trevor-shot. 😀
He was working on sorting out yellow blocks to build an airport control tower.

I took a bunch of Brendan pictures because he did a lot of CRUNCHING today. Of course when he does it, everyone in the house jumps up and down and claps and says, “YAY Brendan!!!” and he loves that. He was feeling silly and really doing well with the crumbs on his lips and tongue. We were very proud.

At the end, he bit in to one of the pretzel sticks and a little shard of it got too far back on his tongue. Part of Brendan’s eating issues has to do with poor tongue control and so he can’t move things around in his mouth well. He choked and gagged on the pretzel piece and threw up pretty violently to get it clear. I swept his mouth with my finger to help him out.
That means that we are going to have to change how we work with him again, always adapting to his ever-evolving skills. We will have to find foods that are safe for him to crunch on. I will have to copy Aunt Erin and bake some soft pretzel sticks that he could chew.
We will be pushing the purees again to see if we can help him learn to eat. We learn every day just like the boys.

We have big plans for tomorrow, it is going to be busy. Friday the 13th and a full moon! Eek!

Year 3 – Week 33- Day 6

I couldn’t narrow down which pictures to use today, there were too many that I loved. We tried to make the most of the morning outside by running the misters on the patio. It helps a lot, but it still is hot!

Trevor liked swinging through the mist and being adorable at the same time

Brendan ran all around with his shopping cart through the mist, then he stopped to stomp on this squeaky dog toy.

Brendan had therapy this morning (OT and Speech). He didn’t do much for them, but as soon as they left, he did all of the things they wanted him to do and then some. Do you see all the little teeth marks in this apple?
333b19

They were put there by Brendan! He also chomped into a cheeto and nibbled a cracker. Not so much as to take a bite, but he put his teeth in a little. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for Brendan it is HUGE!

These pictures didn’t come out great, but Brendan is too cute to not use them

We finished the night by running laps all around the house to wear out the boys. Brendan made another trip to Lowes with Bill tonight to pick up a few things and he loved it this time!

Now we all need a good night of sleep.
