Happy Valentine’s Day!
We took pictures of the boys’ Beads of Courage to post on Facebook today so the boys will get a special heart bead.

Trevor has his own string we finally got put together

It was over 80 degrees today so we did some real yardwork. The boys were mowing like crazy
317b03

317t02

Trevor loved the leaf blower so much that he would sprinkle grass clippings on the driveway just so he could blow them away
317t03

317t04

He helps put gas in Brendan’s mower
317t05

Each boy likes their own mower, but there is some preference to the blue bubble mower. Brendan just wants to try to take it away from Trevor
317bt01

Trevor won

Back to happy mowing

We talked to Gramma on the phone for a while. We had to go pretty quickly, and Trevor took the phone to say goodbye, but I think Gramma already hung up so she missed his message.
I think she could use this today

Trevor took zero nap today, but turned on his light and played quietly in his room while Brendan napped

The boys got special chocolate ice cream sundaes with cherries on top for the holiday

We have some big plans tonight for something very special for the family. I will have to post about it on tomorrow’s blog though! It should be awesome.

Hopefully it will be less disrespectful to the furniture than this

Year 3 – Week 16 – Day 7

We did some shopping today. Trevor and I ran around looking for shoes for Brendan. I ended up getting them each a pair of good sandals. We put gas in the car and Trevor insisted we get a car wash too.

Trevor has become fascinated with the lawn mower and the idea of putting gas in machinery. He figured out how to open the gas cap on the real mower and then told Bill that it was out of gas. He tries to find hoses or tubes and put them in to give it a “refill”.
To help redirect this interest to something safer, we stopped and picked up some lawn mowers. I had to get two in order to avoid the battle that would surely arise. Brendan liked the one that has the poppers like his corn popper.

Trevor was in LOVE with the one that made bubbles
316bt30

On your mark…. get set….
316bt31

GO!!!
316bt32

You have to go pretty fast to make the bubbles, but this was no problem for Trevor
316t17

Brendan pushed his mower around, but Trevor must have done 150 back-and-forths across the lawn
316bt33

316b23

316bt34

Brendan is trying out his new shoes. They are very similar to his old sandals, just a much better quality.
316b24

Trevor is thrilled to help “put gas” in Brendan’s mower. The little gas can is cute.
316t18

I wish I had this much enthusiasm for mowing

He mows off in to the sunset, leaving his trail of bubbles behind him. After dinner, we had to go outside again for another 50 laps.
316t19

And sometimes when the moon is full, you can still here the sounds of that rotary motor and the faint pop…pop…pop

Year 3 – Week 16 – Day 6

Brendan had PT this morning. He has had a tendency to roll his left ankle and we were having him evaluated. The good news is that it just seems like he needs some better shoes and some strengthening exercises. We will have to go shoe shopping.

Other than doing tons of laundry, it was a fairly lazy day. Trevor had his special TV watching set up all ready.
316t15

There is an episode of Curious George that makes him giggle a lot.
316t16

Brendan is back to not eating anything, even from the pouches.
316b14

“I’ll just put this lid back on”
316b15

He did like playing with these cold little sweet peppers.
316b16

316b17

We practiced colors and he would put them to his lips to feel the cold
316b18

He is helping me cook dinner and sorting dry egg noodles. He was pouring them from one cup to another.

Trevor spent about two hours outside today digging in dirt with a spade, and Brendan pushed the shopping cart around the yard. It is supposed to potentially be 88 degrees on Saturday! We are enjoying the beautiful weather while we can. Sorry, snow-covered family! Hope everyone stays safe through the next round of storms.
