Year 3 – Week 11 – Day 4

I can hardly believe the fierce cold winter weather happening on the other side of the country. I truly hope everyone stays safe and warm.
The high here was 70 today, and we made the most of it.

I finally relented and let Trevor have the old vacuum. It is pretty heavy, but he would ask for it all the time.
311t12

I am not sure how this would work in the grass
311t13

Brendan puts his feet up for the drive-in vacuum show
311b13

Trevor knows just how to step on the pedal to release the lock that lets the vacuum tip back
311t14

I have worked so hard with Trevor to stop him from hitting Brendan when he gets frustrated. Brendan still tries to come and take any toy that Trevor has. Trevor now says “Excuse me, Brendan. It’s my turn.” It is so adorable how he says it and he does it now without prompting. I love it. I help remove Brendan so that Trevor doesn’t get frustrated, and I try to get Brendan playing with something else.
311bt03

“Trevor gets a vacuum, and I get this baby toy”
311b14

When Bill was done working, I took Trevor to the park to try to get more of his wiggles out. He went for a nice long run.
311t15

He explored the railroad
311t16

He hugged a dolphin. I wonder if he even remembers that these spray water when the weather is warm.
311t17

Tonight at dinner, Brendan cut the cheese!
311b15

Trevor had a pouch of prunes, and we gave one to Brendan too.
311b16

He was really eating it!
311b17

I think he likes prunes (and needs them right now!). He ate quite a bit of the pouch!
311b18

I am going to try to take Trevor for an adventure tomorrow to wear him out. If he will take a long nap, I might be able to get more painting done!

Year 3 – Week 11 – Day 3

I always want to start off with “it was a very busy day”. I should go back and see how many entries start that way. It WAS busy.
It was Daddy-day with the boys because I prepped, cleaned, taped, and painted in the playroom. We have some momentum going on this project now and we are all eager to get it finally finished! As hard as I worked, it was almost relaxing compared to taking care of the two wild munchkins. I got the walls all done. The flooring comes in later this week so we want to get the painting all done so we can install it!

“What’s old is new again” works very well with toys. We had put up the ball pit for several months, and the boys were thrilled to see it again! I only took a few shots and a video. The hilarity of the ball pit was great. Bill shook it, spun it, flung the boys around and they were all laughing, but if I stood there with my camera, I wouldn’t have gotten so much work done!

After dinner tonight, we heard the ice cream truck in the neighborhood. It was already getting dark, so Bill took Trevor out with a flashlight to see if they could find it. They finally did see it come out of a side street, but it turned the wrong way and they couldn’t flag him down.
Trevor had a blast anyway on his flashlight walk. (cell phone pics in the dark stink!)
311t10

He still had to stop and look at rocks.
311t11

Brendan got a turn to go on a flashlight walk too. He went pretty far!
We are back to our old schedule this week. Our nurse on leave comes back Tuesday. Hopefully we can get our routine back in shape!

Year 3 – Week 11 – Day 2

Things are finally starting to get back to “normal”. Brendan is not back to his full food settings yet, but he is making better progress now and his oxygen needs are more like they were before.
I kept the boys busy this morning while Bill got the ceiling in the playroom textured. I hate the smell of wet drywall mud, but it smells like progress! Tomorrow we hope to tape and roll primer (if the boys cooperate!)

Having Trevor pinned in baby jail with Brendan and I means he didn’t “get his wiggles out”. So right before lunch, I decided to take him for a walk.
311t06

We went around the whole block which is 3/4 of a mile! He kept us this pace the whole trip, and still fought his nap time. (sorry for shaky video, walking with cell phone camera = crappy quality!)

Trevor is a non-stop talker now. He comes out with the best stuff too, it makes me smile. He talked all day about how fire hydrants are where the fire trucks plug in their hoses.
311t07

He stopped at Maggie Moo’s house, but she wasn’t outside.
311t08

We won’t talk about why Brendan had to have a sink bath. It may be related to him not pooping for more than two days.
311b05

311b06

311b07

Trevor went to Lowes with me today for more painting supplies. He was such an awesome boy in the store, I told him he could have an ice cream cone.
311t09

Brendan just wanted the cone part
311b08

311b09

311b10

He licked the chocolate dip
311b11

311b12

It is my turn on the cot tonight. I hope the boys both sleep through the night.
