Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 2

The birthday fun continues…
The boys had a little party this afternoon. We are so happy to have had friends and family over to celebrate! It is difficult to suspend fear of illness and have people to the house. We are grateful that everyone was so cooperative about washing up and being mindful of spreading germs. We missed several people that had to stay away with respiratory symptoms or potential illness. We will have to plan some play dates later!

We had a non-smashed cake for everyone!

There was a buffet of yummy snacks!

Brendan got all dressed up in shoes and socks!

“I’ll get the door!”

Brendan was strutting his stuff tonight, and when a room full of people would burst in to applause, he would look around, beaming with a giant grin, and just eat up the attention. He was walking to everyone!

Trevor played shy and was a little envious. He read his birthday cards while Brendan got all the applause. Trevor eventually was giving everyone high-fives and then they would clap for him too. He would even run up and start clapping to try to get them to clap

They were spoiled with lots of gifts

Trevor is picking the “bubbles” off of the cake to eat (we have a ton of leftover cake and ice cream, who wants some??)

Brendan tackled Trevor tonight!

“Are you ok?”

Awwwww hugs

While everyone was cleaning up, Trevor figured nobody would notice if he got on to the kitchen table to get the iGuy

The face Gramma got when she asked what he was doing

Peeking Brendan

All ready for bed, still playing with the new toys

Gramma worked her butt off from dawn to dusk today cleaning, cooking, shopping, and caring for boys. She made this party possible. Bill scurried around getting the house in order and getting stuff clean too. We all are spent tonight! Thank you everyone for a nice second birthday!

Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 1 – Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

TWO!!! TWO!!! My two are two! It is hard to believe! Happy Birthday to my sweet little boys!

I have a literal explosion of cake pictures, I will get right to it! I baked cakes up this morning while Trevor was eating breakfast. When the boys napped, it was time for some cake-sculpting! First Trevor’s cake, is anyone surprised?

Brendan got an owl from his all-time favorite “Peek-a-boo Forest” book

Get ready..

Get set..

Smash! Trevor was very excited. He said “ZZZZZ Truck! OOOHH!” (which is what he calls the garbage truck)

I think Brendan was less than excited

“No more OOOWWWWLL CAAAAAKE!!!!”

Bye bye owl

To finish off the cake, Bill thought he would give Trevor a wooden mallet!

Brendan thought the hammering was hilarious and wanted the mallet, until he got the mallet

If the pictures were not enough, you can witness all of the fun and excitement in this 8.5 minute video!

Making these cakes was so much fun, I can’t wait until the boys are old enough to come up with their own ideas and help make them. The day was a smashing success and everyone is totally wiped out!!

Happy happy birthday, sleeping boys!

Year 2 – The Season Finale!

Technically, it is Week 53 – Day 1, but week 53 only has one day. This is the last day that these little guys will be 1yr olds!

Keeping with “tradition”, we did a photo shoot today in our DIY photo studio. Mr. Photogenic stole the show!

No teddy bear!!

Trevor did a good job too, initially!

He is signing “candy” because Gramma was bribing him with Reeses Pieces

Cute boys with Gramma

Cute boys with Mommy

Cute boys with Daddy

I know everyone loves the outtakes as much as I do!

It is birthday-eve, so the boys had to get crazy with some “Krazy Kookie Dough”

“What did you say about my hair?”

A while back, I was playing with Brendan and would put toys on my head. He would push my nose and I would say “beep” and allow the toy to fall to him. Weeks later, I put a toy on his head and he started pushing his own nose! That is his thing now.

The nose again!

What, you thought he was going to eat it?

Our photo shoot would not have been possible without a ton of setup work by Bill and a ton of wrangling work by Gramma and Nurse Angel. I simply can not believe that their birthday is tomorrow!! And so ends the blog for a second amazing, crazy, stressful, joyous, silly, difficult, incredible year!
