Year 2 – Week 52 – Day 1

We are cruising full speed in to the last week of having one-year-olds. Brendan totally stressed me out this morning by having an irregular/rough start starting around 4am. He had the signs and symptoms that usually are the onset of illness. He pulled it together though and had a pretty good day and a totally normal evening.

Brendan got to go outside and play this morning

Trevor had to do chores instead! 🙂
Laundry

Sewing

Vacuuming

Brendan had to get a bath in the sink because he threw up while playing. (Part of his rough morning experience)

Trevor at least got to go outside and see the recycle truck. He heard the signal when nobody else did and came to tell me it was time to go outside. He was insistent!

Then more outside time. Boys in box fort

Peek!

Gramma, Trevor and I did some shopping. Brendan wanted to go too!

There was plenty of crabbiness today, even with Gramma here! I had to blow bubbles to keep Trevor happy to get dinner in him. He was a bubble catcher.

Brendan was watching the fun too

And then standing on Daddy

Ice cream!!! (cookie dough)

We had to take the bubbles to the bath too! Trevor kind of likes them!

Trevor thinks we can’t find him so he doesn’t have to go to bed

Too tough for bedtime

Brendan seems to be doing well tonight. No more scares!!! That boy had better stay healthy!

Year 2 – Week 51 – Day 7

We had a rough day. I am not sure why, but both boys were just cranky little crabs today and there was a lot of crying tantrums and complaining toddler style (aka more tantrums). Brendan did pretty well for speech therapy and Trevor ran some errands and did just OK.

But tonight we made a trip to the airport and picked up Gramma! It was a late flight and we had to hurry home and put Trevor right in his chair for dinner, and then right to the bath tub. It wasn’t until after-bath madness that the boys really realized they had company.

Gramma brought new books! (Including some that make lots of loud noises!)

Talented Grammas can read two books to two boys at once

Brendan was a little shy at first, but Gramma totally won him over with a book that has a doorbell built in. Brendan LOVES his doorbell. Trevor calls it the “gong gong” book and took it to his bedroom at bedtime.

Brendan walked back and forth between Daddy and Gramma for almost a half an hour without stopping. Trevor would tackle Gramma with hugs in between passes.

They were wound up and did not want to go to bed

I tried to put Trevor to bed, but he wanted to open his door and he was calling for “mommom”. He had to have Gramma rock him for bedtime. Hopefully they will be in better moods tomorrow! They are spoiled little boys!!

Year 2 – Week 51 – Day 6

It was Trevor’s Truck-tastic Tuesday today!!

Around the corner from us, there was a house getting deliveries of dirt. We saw five of these dump trucks make deliveries like this, I have no idea how many more there were. I can only imagine that he is having his pool parked, what else would be going on with that much dirt?!

The big trucks would come and dump these piles and then the guy in the little bobcat would scoop it up and take it in to the back yard.

After we watched the piles go down several times, Trevor had to come home and play out what he just saw with his own trucks and sand

Mailman!

Back to scooping sand

“Shhh! Do I hear the garbage truck?”

“Can’t we afford a bigger sandbox?”

Making truck-trains

(Lunch break – hence the loss of clothing, coming back out to wait for the garbage truck)
UPS truck!

Finally! Now he can take his nap

This evening, Bill took Trevor outside for more truck time while Brendan and I tried to finish our special project, but Brendan got distracted

I know all of you that didn’t sign up to walk with us this Saturday are going to be sorry that you don’t have one of Brendan’s personally hand painted team shirts.

Our team is eight adults and the two boys, big shirts almost done!

This is the back design. They are still drying!

Bill started dinner while I finished up the shirts. There was hilarity in the kitchen tonight. Trevor was doing this really funny fake laugh in order to make Brendan laugh.

Silly silly boys!

It is too late to get a team t-shirt, but it is not too late to help a worthy cause. Please donate if you can to HopeKids on behalf of team Brendan! Every dollar helps.
