Year 2 – Week 50 – Day 6

Today was even crazier than I expected. The trip for flu shots went smoothly and the boys both handled it so well. They only cried for a couple of minutes and then forgot all about it.
Thanks to the perfect timing of the garbage truck and the oxygen refill, Trevor did not get even a minute of nap. We had to just hang out in my bed and read books so that Brendan could sleep. And we spent a good amount of time outside too.
Brendan did very well for OT today.

Trevor hadn’t even gotten to breakfast before he started with the yelling “OUTSIDE!!!!” He eventually got to go out and play.
He is shopping for rocks.

He loves dirt. If you don’t watch him, he still tries to eat it.

He is an airplane spotter

Someone had to wait for his hour of food to be up before he could come out to play

Trevor found the forward/reverse switch on the jeep

He says it needed gas

Graceful exit

I didn’t have the camera out much for Brendan earlier, so I had to take pictures of his bath. I put Trevor to bed a little early so I skipped doing Brendan’s bath in the big tub. Instead, he got a bath in the kitchen sink after Trevor was asleep. He loved it.

I am hoping for a much much more slow paced day tomorrow!

Year 2 – Week 50 – Day 5

Another day of just me and the boys, this time it was just a regular work day for Bill and some emergency sprinkler repair in the yard. These boys wear me out! Tomorrow will be a throw back to old “Busy Tuesday”. We have flu shots in the morning, oxygen refill and OT.

I hope he shows off his new tricks for OT tomorrow. Like the way he licked all the salt off of about 7 pretzel sticks!

Trevor ate a good lunch. He still likes his rice.

“Not the toy in the food!!”

The Tormentor

Look who is TASTING peanut butter!

I can’t say what is cuter in the video. Brendan eating or Trevor’s “story”. I don’t know what the story is about, but it sounds very dramatic!

Trevor has fallen in love with “The Lonely Goatherd” from The Sound of Music. He wanted to watch it again and again and again. I love how he stops when he sees the camera and pretends like he was not just dancing.

Brendan continues to do well with his feeding routine. We will be making some more tweaks to it soon. This hourly nonsense makes me feel like I am a slave to a beeping pump!

Year 2 – Week 50 – Day 4

I am so tired tonight, I am trying to keep my eyes open to type! Bill took care of Brendan overnight and he slept very well. He is still handling the change. With the tweaks to the first and last feed, it has been working out.

Bill had to make a trip to the west side of town today so it was just me and the boys all morning. I tried to keep them occupied inside with a giant Inventory Undo game. It worked for a whlie, they like sorting.

We counted everything and put all the pieces with the right stuff. Brendan counted 10 fish for the fishbowl

Trevor is going to bring back Synthpop with his multi-keyboard array. He is quite skilled

Trevor did a lot of Brendan tackling today. He doesn’t charge him anymore. With enough scolding and telling him to “be gentle”, Trevor now just walks over and slowly lowers himself on to Brendan and flattens him on the ground. It is like a tackle, only “gentle”.
To be fair, Brendan is Instigator Extraordinaire. No matter where Trevor goes or what toy he has, Brendan has to come and get involved or try to take it.
In order for Trevor to have a little time with his favorite “iGuy”, I had to build a Brendan-barricade.

Brendan put all kinds of things in the ball popper today.

I think he is trying to put himself in

More spilled milk! This time it is Trevor’s cup. Brendan turns the cup upside down and bends the straw against the floor to release the valve and make it spill.

Trevor is climbing on and helping sort a big pile of hand-me-downs. Thanks Josh and Adrienne and Jack for all the clothes! And thanks, Olivia, for being a girl so you didn’t need your brother’s stuff!!
