Year 2 – Week 45 – Day 5

Happy Labor Day! Bill had the day off, I hope anyone else that had a holiday today was able to enjoy it. Bill got a lot of work done on the mountain of to-do list projects, so it wasn’t especially relaxing but it was productive.

By some miracle, the boys actually played nicely together for a while this morning.

They both went down easily for a nap….until….there was a big storm with really loud thunder. It didn’t seem to disturb the boys at all, but then the dogs came blasting in the house, went through the kitchen (which they never do!) and in to the living room with their wet feet on the wood floors. They both slipped and crashed, sent toys flying everywhere, and then there was the sound of their nails scrambling and clacking as they tried to get up. It was like the noise of a bowling alley. Of course Brendan startled awake and was done with his 10min nap. Trevor stirred enough from that noise that the next rumble of thunder woke him the rest of the way and he was scared. So much for rest!
They had to come jump in Brendan’s bed for a while.

Then Trevor wanted to escape

I caught Brendan licking and tasting a goldfish cracker today. He was enjoying it until he actually bit it, then it was all over. He gagged and threw up.

He went back to chewing plastic things

Trevor has started to develop his imaginary play skills, and it is too cute for words. He noticed the back of his Grand Central Station has a little refreshment stand and he kept telling me there was “Coke!” (which there was little soda bottles printed on the sticker). Then he lined up the balls and they each went to the counter and made a “slluurp” noise as they took a drink. The balls went up and down the elevator 100 times and the cars and trains said hi to each other each time the car drove over the roof.

So this is Trevor’s “Yummmm” face, which he will do on command if you ask him, “Is your food good? Yummmm!”. Should I get him a talent agent for commercials?

He has his “does not like” face too for the competitor’s product

This is “I am squishing your head” face

He loves his begging dog

It was not a bad day for a Monday, minus the nap-tastrophe.

Year 2 – Week 45 – Day 4

Today was all about cleaning, organizing, and minimizing crying. Every day lately is about minimizing crying. We live in toddler meltdown city!

Trevor begs to go outside, but it is too hot to stay out too long. He got a short fix of playing in the dirt.

He tried to pass some time with the scooter

He tries to ride big wheelies

And he likes to spin

Brendan’s little duck tail of hair is growing back. The rest of it just is refusing to grow in!

This is still one of his favorite apps. He was laughing and holding both “O” down at once.

He didn’t want to stand for a picture today. I am trying to get him to walk to me. He just will NOT go anywhere unless he has at least a fingertip to hold on to.

He is like plasticman, he will stretch a long way and just not let go

He did do lots of excellent knee walking while pushing the scooter today. That is how Trevor started when he was about to walk.

Trevor’s big accomplishment is for the third night in a row, he made peepee in the potty! Right before his bath, he gets undressed and sits on the big potty. He thinks and works and has managed to make a small tinkle each time. So now that he knows how to do it, we just have to get him trained to know WHEN he is going to do it and signal us. We were very excited for him though, it is a big step!

Year 2 – Week 45 – Day 3

Saturdays can be fun because Bill is home and not working. The boys were at each other this morning and getting all worked up, so Bill decided to take Trevor to the park while I stayed home with Brendan.

He loves the park. Because of the rain, it was only 95 this morning.

He mostly loves to play in dirt

This video has some issues. There are weird freezes and the audio is a little off because Bill took it on his old phone and it had trouble. It is too cute to not post it though. Toddler jogging!

Brendan and I decided to build some crazy train layout. Brendanzilla decided to eat track!

He was helpful for a while

I had to put him in his highchair for the final checkover before we could run a train on it

Slightly boring to watch on video, this is just an engine going around our circuit. It was pretty complex and four stories tall.

Trevor came home in time to see the train running

Brendan helped me put together a storage unit that we will use to put away all the track pieces

He got a little carried away with hammering

Because Trevor has just been obsessed with our very heavy full sized vacuum, Bill decided to make him his own. This is a real Bissell 3-in-1 that can be bought at Walmart for less than $15. Bill cut, drilled, and modified the handle to make it Trevor sized. Right now the cord is tied up, but before too long, we will see how Trevor does at real vacuuming. He pushed it all around, up and down the hall, in the bedrooms. He loves it!

He even gives it a kiss to show how much he loves it!

No words….

These Crayola Dry-Erase Washable markers really do wash off easily and well. They just don’t write on the dry erase board well at all. Trevor loves them for coloring on his high chair tray.

Brendan wants to show off something…

He is wearing his new onesie from Gramma!

He like to lean, tough guy style

It is Bill’s night to sleep in the living room with Brendan. He has been slowly improving, he is on 3L tonight!
