Year 5 – Week 17 – Day 1

Happy Valentine’s Day or, thanks to a cartoon they watch, the boys call it “Just Because I Love You Day”. They got chocolate treats and a record breaking hot day.

It was time to introduce them to the joy of water balloons!

These two balloons were fused together in the bag and wouldn’t split even when filled. I think it makes for a hilarious picture. His face. Hahahaha
517t02

Sprung a leak when the “twin” balloon broke
517t03

Stomp!
517t04

That last moment just before….
517t05

Boom!!
517t06

Brendan had some kind of magic power.

This sequence of photos shows how the balloons just bounced right off of him

Not Trevor though!
517t07

He said, “Gee Mommy, thanks for the quick shower”
517t08

Bounced off
517b05

Now he is looking for revenge!

Bounced off!

Catch!
517b10

Got him that time!
517b11

He was NOT happy at all with his mean mommy

Bill spent the day installing a new back door. No more unguarded dog door 🙁

We finished the day with a most beautiful sunset.

Year 5 – Week 16 – Day 1

First, Happy Birthday to Uncle Jon and Aunt Letty!

I can’t remember most of the week, I guess there wasn’t much news. Trevor started going to school three days a week now instead of two days a week. We got our truck back after two weeks in the shop.

Today we went geocaching. Can you see the hidden treasure? Brendan found it.
516b01

See it now? There was just a little log list to sign.
516b02

The next one was up in a tree.
516b03

Brendan will get it!
516b04

The boys pulled out a little duckie yo-yo that they could fight over.
516bt01

Spot #3, this one we could not find.
516bt02

The scenery was nice.
516bt03

Off to the park to have a picnic and feed the ducks. Trevor was on “chase away the pigeons” duty.
516bt05

Playground!
516bt04

It was in the 70’s today, but the sun was beating down hot!

Year 5 – Week 15 – Day 1

We had a good week with family in town, lots of gatherings and dinners and busy time. I did not take pictures!

It wasn’t until the very last day that I got some photos of Beth and Steve with the boys.

You wouldn’t believe that earlier in the day, they were up to their chins in mud.

Brendan’s shoes were coated.
515b02

Trevor’s shoes came off in the mud. We had to dig them out two days later when it was all dry.

Our sad news is that on Friday, we had to say goodbye to Eins. He had been acting normal (for him) all day, but in the evening he had some kind of attack and couldn’t breathe. Beth and Steve played with the boys and kept them entertained so that they would not see the distress he was in. Bill and I were en route to the animal hospital when he passed away.
He was a unique dog with the most laid back personality. He will be missed.

We are now a petless home and removing all of the signs of “dog” in the house feels very strange.
