Year 4 – Week 21 – Day 7

Happy Equinox! We had a couple of cool and slightly rainy days, but now the days will keep getting longer and the 90+ temperatures will be back to stay.

We celebrated the first day of Spring with the boys’ first chocolate bunnies. 421bt07

We are trying to beat the heat. We had our first 90 degree day today, and the humidity has almost reached single digits. Chapstick sales go through the roof.

After Trevor watched a silly video of his cousin Ashley he just nodded and said, “I want to play with HER”. The boys were inspired.

2 weeks passed – no vent! Go Brendan!

Year 4 – Week 21 – Day 1

Happy “Pi day of the Century!”
(We failed to do anything nerdy to celebrate) I guess we could celebrate any day at 3:14 and 15 seconds.

We did pick up a sweet craigslist score today. A fairly vague ad that I almost let go by said they had 12 Lego building plates and a bag of loose Legos. Those plates are expensive!! Not only did we get the super deal on the plates, including a 3D mountain one that Trevor adores, the bag had almost 50 minifigures (aka Lego “guys”) in it. Brendan is all totally in to Lego “guys”.

Brendan’s favorite Lego set is his police station and he asks for it every morning. He likes to put all the cop “guys” in to the jail and the criminal one drives the police car. Any other guy that drives the police car has to wear the “Bad-guy hat” which is a black knit cap. Now he has so many hats and hairs and legs and costumes. Trevor covered his mountain scape with an army of construction guys.

Here are the boys with some of their new haul.

“The Lego Movie” is a bit mature for them to watch right now, but they like the opening scene with the main character Emmett going through his daily routine. If you haven’t seen it, this will not make any sense.

This mom is having fun with the boys’ great interest in Legos. We have building time almost every day now!
