Year 3 – Week 34 – Day 7

It is a lazy blog today. We had a fill-in nurse to help us, it sometimes feels like more work getting someone up to speed on everything than just doing it myself. But, the big difference is that she will be available to fill in for us sometime again and won’t have so many questions.

From the “Cute Things that Trevor Says” file:

Ask him what this is called and he says. “It’s a Can-O-Beaner!”

Year 3 – Week 34 – Day 6

It was one of those days where it took hours to wake up my head after my body was already up and busy. I just kept yawning and wishing I could go back to bed. I am feeling apprehensive about tomorrow and the nursing schedules coming up. Brendan entertained me with his bologna games. He thought it was a stylish fashion accessory. 334b17 334b18 334b19 ***Super secret Brendan-to-Kieran message transmission contains hints that smearing greasy bologna in your hair is a good way to get an extra sink bath in the middle of the day***

We actually found a little internet project for kids that was not an over-exaggerated, expertly-staged-for-photos disaster. Bubble snakes!! The boys have been making bubble snakes all week. They are super cheap, super easy, and lots of fun. You take a plain water bottle and cut the bottom off. Wrap it in a piece of terry cloth or something similar, I used a baby wash cloth. I held it on with a hair rubberband. Smear some bubble bath on the rag and then blow through the bottle opening. The more wet the rag is, the more dense and foamy and loose the snake is. The more dry, the bubbles are larger and puffier. We were trying to see how long we could make a snake without it breaking. 33406

Year 3 – Week 34 – Day 5

In AZ, the day was rough. We had to make some tough choices dealing with our ongoing nursing drama. The weekend caught up with me and I was very tired.
I didn’t get out the camera today, but I have this shot of Trevor’s little trick. He can lean out of his bed and open the top part of the door. Then he peeks his little head out and can look down the hall and see me sitting on the couch. He gives a little wave and says, “Hi Mommy!”

The most exciting thing today though was the birth of the boys’ new baby cousin! It’s a boy!! (Another boy! That makes 5 grandsons in a row for my mom, all in just 3yrs and a few extra weeks.)

Welcome, Rhys Oliver! 6lb 10oz, 17″
Congratulations to Aunt Erin, Uncle Jules and Cousin Caleb!
