Year 2 – Week 3 – Day 6

Trevor slept through the night!!!
Super fuzzy, fleece footie pajamas did the trick. He woke up a little at 5am while Bill was moving around getting ready for work, but he lie right back down by himself and he slept until 6:50am. I feel so bad that it could have been something as simple as his feet being cold that made him sleep so poorly.
Since I got some rest, today was all about getting things done! (and being thwarted by a Trevor at every turn)
I emptied the all the different drawers and shelves in Trevor’s room and boxed up or threw away or gave away all of the old stuff to make room for all of the new stuff. All of the boys’ new clothes are washed and sorted and put away right. New sizes, new season, now it is all organized. What should have taken maybe an hour took all day long, with Trevor either crying, napping so I couldn’t be in the room, or undoing what I just put away.
I am tired, I didn’t take a single picture until late tonight but I feel good getting a big task off of the checklist.

Even toaster-baby Brendan has been chilly at night, so tonight he gets to wear some lightweight pajamas. He looks so cute in jammies! Brendan had an OK day, he is showing signs of the methadone withdrawal again. I believe he may be methadone free by Christmas, that would be an awesome accomplishment.

Trevor is so cuddly in his jammies, I just can’t help but squeeze him all the time. He knows he is cute.

Coincidentally, he camouflages perfectly in Brendan’s bed!

Bill and Brendan always have an evening nap together. Trevor wants to climb up there too.

Tomorrow is the last day of antibiotics for Brendan, and he should be through his next phase of withdrawal so we can give him a few days to rest before we have to drop the dose again.

I simply refuse to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. It isn’t possible. It was just in the 90’s here a few days ago, it isn’t the holiday season yet!!

Year 2 – Week 3 – Day 5

Brendan and Trevor have a special message to share for Aunt Erin!

I forgot to say ‘Happy Veterans Day’ yesterday, we greatly appreciate everyone who has served especially Bill, the boys’ grandpas, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. All branches of the military are represented by our family. Thanks for your service!

Trevor was up on and off all through the night last night, but then went back to sleep at 6:15am or so and then slept until 8:30am. His schedule was all out of whack and it affected his naps today, but overall he did well. I got to sleep in a bit this morning thanks to Bill covering the last wake up.
I am suspecting that he may be getting cold in the night, his little feet were pretty chilly this morning. So I put him to bed in footie jammies. We will see if it makes a difference.

Brendan had his appointment this morning and that all went well. Just a change in formula to something more nutritionally appropriate for his age. His growth is right on track! Since he is using his big boy car seat now, he also had to sit in the whale stroller without the clip in seat. He rode in the front so he could see.

“Don’t worry, Jacque. We got this.”

There is no Trevor today. He stayed home with Dad because he was off work today. Just Brendan, captain of his ship and all of his gear riding in the back.

He got bored waiting

Brendan had an outing so while he still had a nurse, we took Trevor out too. We had a gift card so we went to lunch. Trevor sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time. He behaved pretty well considering he was so tired.

Trevor tried bites of all kinds of things at lunch. He liked enchiladas with either chicken, spinach or beef, he liked papas con chile, refried beans, and he LOVED taco meat. I didn’t let him have much, just tastes. He doesn’t seem to mind spicy at all.

He is definitely my baby, he also likes sour/tart. I let him have a lemon wedge and he was just going to eat it up. No sour face.
I am not sure if he finally got hit by sour and got mad, or if he accidentally squeezed it and got his eye a little. After the end of this video, he wanted the lemon right back to chew on!

As soon as we got to the car, he was out cold

He took a long nap this afternoon, I hope he sleeps better tonight.

Brendan wanted to stay up late tonight. He was all kinds of silly and just wanted to play. I even got out his baby bucket swing which he loved. It was funny to see how big he was in it.
He had a blast.

Then I told him that he was too big for it and that it was time to give it to a baby to use.

Although it was a bit of an accident last week, we have discovered that Brendan can maintain perfect numbers with slightly less oxygen. He has been doing great on 2 liters of flow instead of 3. We weren’t going to wean oxygen for a while, but he really is taking it like there was no change at all. Go Brendan!

Brendan and Trevor are rooting for their cousin-to-be today. As of today, he is 32 weeks and 2 days along, just like my boys were when they were born. Keep cooking little cousin!

Year 2 – Week 3- Day 4

I am deliriously tired, I ended up with 2hrs of sleep last night plus a chain of micro naps this morning that didn’t amount to much. The boys had a good day for the most part. We dressed them up and took them to see Grandpa Jack this afternoon.

Trevor went to bed super easy and right on time, but now tonight he has been up crying so hard already a few times. I am not sure what it is but I suspect it is molars coming in.

My eyes are closing looking at this screen, so here’s the cuteness! I will write more tomorrow.
