Year 2 – Week 24 – Day 1

It is another early blog day. I have been procrastinating doing our taxes and time is running out so I need to finish them up tonight! I have never done them so late in the year!

Block flinging Brendanzilla had a better night

We hope this means he is finally getting past the adjustment and is ready to keep zooming forward in progress.

The mornings are gorgeous even though it gets to the 90’s by the afternoon. I hung up a wind-spinner and Trevor thought it was the coolest thing ever. He ran in circles for at least a half hour.

Brendan went a little too fast and stumbled while crawling. It is going to happen a lot! It was the tiniest little tumble, but he was full of drama.

I told him to get tough. Of course as soon as I picked him up he was all smiles with giant tears rolling down.

Sand-scoop hats are cool

They must be tasty too

But the one in the brother’s hand is always more desirable

Figuring something out every day, Gramma will be proud. So much for my pictures on the wall!

Year 2 – Week 23 – Day 7

Some days, I just don’t bother with the camera. Some days, I try to get the boys to do their cutest stuff for the camera and they just won’t. Trevor has a new frog impression and some amazing new dance moves, he just won’t do it when I want him to!
Brendan makes some hilarious sounds and stands on his head, just not when the camera is around.

Brendan is still showing signs of difficulty in adjusting to the ventless nights. He has needed more oxygen and suctioning, but otherwise he has had a great day. He wore his speaking valve for an hour and a half today, this time we put the direct oxygen line on it instead of the mist collar.

He didn’t feel like pictures today, he just tried to run away

Trevor had plenty of fun today too, but this is what I get for pictures.

The days are getting hotter and our outside time is going to be limited soon. I am going to have to get real creative to keep these crazies happy indoors!

Year 2 – Week 23 – Day 6

Tuesdays are tiring. Lots of people coming and going always wear me out. After a decent PT this morning, Trevor was frustrated and cranky so I just threw him in the car and took him for a ride. We went by the grocery store and saw the fire engine out front again so we stopped to see it.
It was perfect timing today because all the firemen were there and they were all very excited to talk to Trevor. I asked if I could take his picture on the truck and they went all out, getting him his own hat, giving him a radio and then letting him have the fire hose.
He was a little nervous, especially with all the men trying to talk to him at once. What a special outing that happened accidentally! I only had my camera phone on me.

Back at home, Brendan was ready for a little adventure too. He was blasting up and down the hall and bringing his little car along behind him.

Trevor says, “Follow me”

Brendan jumped to his new oxygen base station and the boys played in their bedroom for a while.

I washed each and every one of the blocks that we picked up with the cube yesterday. We have just a few now!

There is more than a truckload

Dump!

Trevor was playing trucks and sandbox outside this afternoon. He has figured out how to open the lid on the sandbox, so it was time to clean it up for the move to the front patio.

Trevor is going to help sweep the sand away

Something else got swept away

I put all of the sand (only one bag) in to a bucket for the move. Trevor just loves the box itself so I put in a half gallon of warm water and just let him play with it. With the sand cleaned up, even Brendan wanted in on it.

Trevor thinks Brendan could use a drink

These weeks are flying by. We are almost half way through year two already, it is hard to believe. Brendan is even better still today, we are just going to keep marching forward!
