Year 2 – Week 48 – Day 3

I wish that when I said we had a busy weekend ahead that I meant that it was packed with fun. 🙂
It started out with Bill running to Home Depot this morning at 6am and renting a power rake to prep the lawns for the winter grass. He mowed and dethatched all morning. (Still was 103 today!)

The boys actually had a good morning, but they were up to something.

When they put their heads together, that is when we will have the biggest trouble!!

Their secret mission begins

I got them to forget about their mission by playing a video of a garbage truck. You can find anything on the web these days! Trevor is helping Brendan study so he is ready for Tuesday.

Trevor discovered the ball popper on his behind the gate adventure. Put up a toy for a while and it is like new again.

It is also highly desirable

I have realized that I use the phrase “There you go” with Trevor quite frequently. He now says it too. He was putting coins in his bank and he says “Theyygo, pig”. I took Trevor this afternoon to a Beads of Courage event hoping to take some cool pictures. The flyers failed to mention that the whole thing was OUTSIDE (I mentioned the 103 degrees already!). It was too hot to stay long or stand and take pictures of people making beads with hot torches. Trevor picked up a cool handmade bead and we left fairly quickly.

Tomorrow will be busy too, but we have no outings planned. Bill has a work-related lunch to attend. I hope the boys nap well!!

Year 2 – Week 48 – Day 2

Moods were better today than yesterday, mostly. The day was uneventful.

Nobody will ever believe that Trevor gets dressed every day! He is an AZ baby and it was 103 today, so he is running around outside in just a diaper. He is Trevor the Gecko Hunter.

He was driving his truck around finding rocks in the yard and putting them in the truck.

He kept offering the dogs some rocks. They kept falling for it.

Run away!

Brendan is happy to just swing swing swing

This is his way of saying he isn’t ready to be done, crossing his feet and holding on to the harness so you can’t take him out.

“Now how do you buckle this back up?”

Drumming with glow sticks

More evidence that you can not turn your back for a second

Brendan skipped his nap again today, but went to bed earlier than usual. It is going to be a very busy weekend for everyone, I really need him to sleep well tonight!!

Year 2 – Week 48 – Day 1

I will not allow a big green truck to toy with me again! This morning, I was loading Trevor in to the car to run some errands. I got him all buckled in and thought I heard the recycle truck in the neighborhood. So I let him out! The schedule has been so crazy, Tuesday they came for the garbage at 6:45am, and last week it was after 3:00pm.
After waiting and not hearing anything, I put him back in the car. But then I was sure it was about to come around the corner, so I took him out. We waited and waited, and nothing, so I buckled him back in. Then I got the warning text from Bailey that it was on our street, so he got back out!!

We got Brendan and his nurse outside in time to see it this time.

I can’t say Brendan is the fan that Trevor is, but maybe he just needs time!

Trevor and I were searching for a simple white wall shelf. We ended up at IKEA, so he had to have a meatball kids meal and some lingonberry juice for lunch. The frozen yogurt machine was broken!

Brendan did about 100 more laps pushing his box this morning, and he wore his PMV all day. (Except for the “nap” he took for 20 minutes!!) Pushing the box must have really helped because Brendan surprised us this afternoon with a new trick!

It seemed like a great day until about 4pm and then it went to pure insanity. Brendan was tired and crying, Trevor hated the sound of Brendan yelling and crying so he was having a total meltdown. The entire time I tried to cook and clean up the kitchen, the two of them were screaming. By the time dinner was ready to eat, nobody had an appetite so it went untouched.
Bath time stopped the screaming and both boys went to bed at a good time. The silence now is nice, it takes a while for the tension and headache to dissipate. We are so proud of Brendan for his big accomplishment. Now we are in big big trouble!
