Year 2 – Week 48 – Day 6

Today was all about errands, errands, errands. We had to make some returns, straighten out some messes, and pick some things up – like my camera!! I am so happy to have it back. Tempe Camera gets a shout out from me because they got the job done for $50 less than their original estimate. It works beautifully and came back clean and looking like new.

We had to return some jeans to Sams Club due to a broken zipper. Trevor thought the return was taking too long, he told me where he wanted to go.

“Look! One for me and one for Gramma!”

When all was done, we made five stops today. Trevor was falling asleep in the car on the way home. I spent the last couple of miles talking and singing and trying my best to keep his attention! He woke up and needed a snack.

This is one way to take off your shoe

We picked up some seasonal things from the dollar store today. Bill and I have not ever been much in to decorating, but now the boys make it fun. Trevor had a great time putting up window clings.

Brendan had a great day too. He got an oxygen refill today, but he has been doing so awesome that only one of his three tanks was even used. The other two were still full! I am so thrilled to see him making progress again and I am trying hard to shed the fear I feel every morning when I wake up, wondering if he will be showing signs of a new illness. I always get a huge surge of relief when I come out and see his huge smile.
Yesterday, his OT brought some bubble wrap for him to pop. He does not like it, but he gave it a shot. (He loves the pop books though!)

He turns his back on things he doesn’t want now.

Posing with his food truck

He will get this milk bag open one day

Trevor got an important phone call during dinner. Whenever he hears the ring, he will have these HUGE conversations while he holds his hand to his ear. But if you get him on a real phone with someone, he clams up and won’t say a word.

Somehow a few nights ago, Trevor found a sock on the floor and pulled it in to his crib. That sock has become his new “lovey” at night. It is a gray sock with this light rubbery non-skid on it. He has lots like it. But when he settles down to rock, he has to have this sock so he can rub it in his fingers. He still likes his burp rags, but he will cry if he can’t find his sock.
He will sign “socks” when he is getting ready for bed.

He talks to his stuffed animals too. Whatever keeps him happy so we can sleep!

Year 2 – Week 48 – Day 5

We all survived the day! It started out a bit crabby, we had a OK PT session and then they both took good naps and woke up in good moods.

The secret to success is to always put myself in between them and try to get them playing with their own things. Or, just put them in a drawer.

Brendan wanted to chew on his HME and oxygen line again so I made him wear his cap. If he is going to have his oxygen in his mouth, he ought to breathe through his mouth!

He wore his cap for an hour and ten minutes!

Keeping Trevor happy while I make dinner involves a spoonful of peanut butter straight from the jar

He is not a huge fan of mac n cheese, but he will eat some. But mix in hamburger meat, and he ate the entire bowl and asked for more! And that is on top of peas and raspberries and spoonfuls of peanut butter!

Trevor and I have a ton of errands tomorrow. One of them is picking up my camera from the shop! It is done and the repair came in under the estimated cost. YAY!

Year 2 – Week 48 – Day 4

I am very happy with how well the boys behaved today, minus the part where Trevor did not nap for even a minute. He spent an hour in his crib alone and was quiet so that Brendan could sleep, but he was bouncing, jumping, climbing, and playing. I am so happy he is still in his crib and that this is still an option!

While I tried to put Trevor down, I strapped Brendan in tight to his high chair and put his spy cam on him. He was enjoying playing with his big cats and waited nicely for me.

Brendan took a good nap, they were crazies all morning so I expected them both to sleep well! Brendan had some wireless time again, so it was the perfect time to get out the tunnel! Watch for Brendan’s “hands free” cool trick.

Trevor played nicely with some trains as long as I could keep Brendan from charging him.

Trevor got this book at Sam’s Club today. He LOVES it and so does Brendan. It has these little plastic popper buttons in all of the pages. You have to count the farm animals and click the little poppers on each animal. All combined, he probably spent 2hrs today popping the poppers. Genius idea!!

Brendan isn’t watching football, he is telling me how a rocket goes UP UP UP.
