Year 2 – Week 46 – Day 2 – Happy 92nd Birthday Great Grandma!!

Trevor slept for almost 12hrs and woke up feeling a little more smiley than yesterday. We had plans to go meet some people from the Moms’ group for a playdate at one of their houses so he was getting ready in his swim gear. He heard noises outside and got all super excited that it was the garbage truck. I tried to tell him it was Friday and that he was crazy.
But then I heard it a few times. We opened the door, and sure enough, there was the big green truck right across the street doing a special pick up at the neighbor’s house. He had a bunch of dead tree branches again from the recent storms. This little guy was happy.

We watched the two men load all the branches up and then pull away. They both waved at Trevor.

There were four other toddlers and a 7mo old girl at the Meetup today. There were also tons of toys, a baby pool, a water table and a very crazy dog.

I felt like an ogre crashing a pixie party. This subset of the Moms’ group was made up of tiny little tan 20-somethings who all were talking about where they get their nails done and how they manage all of the flights and trips they are taking with their kids. Three of them might have jumped on a teeter-totter against me and not made it budge. I was worried that if I sneezed too hard it might blow them over.
I gave up trying to have a conversation when one was giving details about her 2.5yr old’s upcoming 5th trip to Disneyland. I just played with all the kids. Trevor had a very good time and that’s what counts. He was nice to all the kids (he saves all of the kicks and punches for Brendan I guess). I played with the baby for a while, she was adorable.

Brendan is doing well. He has been in the most silly adorable moods and you just want to scoop him up and squish him with loving hugs when he smiles so big. He is hilarious.
He was having a great time jumping in his crib with Trevor tonight.

Trevor is giving Brendan a kiss to say sorry for assaulting him with kicks earlier.

Brendan keeps practicing his balancing. He is too cute when he lets go of the rail and then smiles real big and waits for the clapping and cheers.

We wish a very very happy birthday to Great Grandma Bobbie today. We are happy to hear that Aunt Schnah and Kieran made it safely to IL on his first plane trip. We sure wish we could be there to celebrate with the whole family. We hope Caleb gets to feeling better too, he had a rough night with a cold, such bad timing!

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Brendan having his ileostomy reversal surgery. So much has changed in one year. I can’t even imagine what Great Grandma’s next birthday will bring.

Year 2 – Week 46 – Day 1

It was an insane day today. Bill left the house before 4am to catch his plane. Trevor woke up at 5am screaming and I could not get him to go back to bed. He would relax if I rocked him, but if I tried to set him down, he would sob and cry this very sad cry.
I finally gave up trying and fed him breakfast at 6:30am, he was up for the day and woke up Brendan too.
With a poor night of sleep, he was a CRAB!! Brendan had an important meeting today with his new (old!) OT and Trevor made it nearly impossible to have a conversation. I gave him lunch early and got him to bed for a nap by 11:00am. I wish he would have slept longer, but 2hrs was enough to reset him a bit and he had a much better afternoon/evening. He just hasn’t been acting like himself.

I got him through the morning with train play. He loves these buildings because they move and process little square bales of “hay”. He even says “Haaaaayy!”

This building has a pretend chute to load the dump truck with dirt, complete with cool sounds.

I thought that Trevor napped through his recycle truck today, but it ended up coming at 3:45PM!! Crazy schedule! At least we were outside in time to see it!

I am very grateful for my two nurses today that both extended their shifts so that I had coverage for almost the entire day and evening. It is a lot of work without Bill here doing his part! Getting through dinner was the only time I was alone with them, and they did fine in their high chairs.

Trevor wouldn’t eat his favorite ham tonight, makes me suspicious about him not feeling well. He did devour lots of fresh mashed potatoes.

Brendan’s fork with mashed potatoes made it to the ground in record time

Trevor says, “That’s ok Brendan, you don’t need a fork when you can eat by the fistful”

Brendan says, “Are you sure we are related?!”

“When you were taking a picture of Trevor, I ate a bite of potatoes THIS BIG”

The bad news to share is that my camera is broken. It won’t turn on every time and when it does, it might not stay on long. I replaced both the main battery and the little date/time battery and no go. Bill did as much as he could to test and check it out, but it looks like it needs to go to the shop! 🙁
I had to pull out my 7yr old camera to take most of the pictures today, I already miss the big one!

Bill just walked in from the airport, safe and sound at home already. What a whirlwind day for him, going to Dallas and back in one day. We are all glad to have him home!

Year 2 – Week 45 – Day 7

This ended up being a very full day for Trevor. I just intended to take him out of the house so that Brendan could try wearing his PMV (which he did for 30min!)

I didn’t know what to, then I had an idea. We went up to see the light rail trains going by. We went to the donut shop on the corner where we could sit in the window.

Walking up to the shop, we noticed there was an explosion of grasshoppers EVERYWHERE.

Trevor went up and down the sidewalk and chased them away, laughing when they hopped. (He really loves his shadow too.

Then we went in to watch donuts being glazed

He picked out his own treat (He ended up eating the sprinkles off and left the rest!)

He watched trains go by and he saw big birds swooping down and snatching up grasshoppers

When we got home, the mailman drove up behind us and handed Trevor a package. It was a new fan for Brendan and there was a picture of a fan on the box. Trevor was thrilled and pushed it all over the house in his shopping cart saying “fan! fan!”

Brendan had a nice fun day and in addition to wearing his pmv, he got turned down to 2.5L.

He had enough energy to be Brendanzilla

He helps to shake up the formula

Brendan-style drinking

He turned his cube over and wanted to climb in to it

So we obliged him

Bill has to get up in just a few hours to leave on a business trip to Texas. He will catch a late flight back the same day, it will be a long day! The boys had better be good!
