Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 4

We started the day with an art project. I wanted to try some stamping with the boys and some fingerpaints, so I made them some potato stamps. It was awesome, until I realized what a doofus I was. When you carve letters in to the potato, they have to be backwards to stamp it the right way. DUH!! It was still really cute and we will definitely do this again some time.

Trevor likes doing art, he has such focus

Brendan could think of several other things he would rather be doing

He did some good painting and coloring

But then his art suffered the same fate as the owl cake

After they were cleaned up from the paint, they put stickers on envelopes for me

Gramma took Trevor for a walk again. He is too big for his scooter now, but still too small to reach to pedal his tricycle

Trevor discovered a palm frond and thought he needed to sweep the world with it

Brendan tried a real session with his therapy vest tonight. I am very impressed at how well he handled it! Trevor was more upset about seeing it all than Brendan was wearing it!

Trevor is going to help adjust the settings

We’ll try to have him wear his vest often, even though it will really be the most useful when he is sick. It is good for him to just get used to it.

Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 3

It was a weekend full of birthday madness, so we tried to recover today. I finally convinced Bill that he should go to our favorite place for a pedicure. He took Gramma for a treat this morning and they both sat in massage chairs and got the works! He is sorry he waited so long!

For breakfast this morning, Trevor had the last “bubble” off of his cake

Maybe Brendan thought he needed to soak his feet too?

I tried to tell Trevor that this was not a ride-on truck

For the most part, they played nicely today. They are learning how to trade and share

Morning yoga time

Hands free!

Now what are they up to?

Bill did the brakes on the truck today, so Trevor had to do brakes too

Veggie straws and onion dip fun

28lbs of Brendan makes for a good arm workout. Flying Brendan!!

Too much party made a crabby boy!!

Brendan gives Trevor a backrub to help him feel better

Now we all just need lots of sleep!

Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 2

The birthday fun continues…
The boys had a little party this afternoon. We are so happy to have had friends and family over to celebrate! It is difficult to suspend fear of illness and have people to the house. We are grateful that everyone was so cooperative about washing up and being mindful of spreading germs. We missed several people that had to stay away with respiratory symptoms or potential illness. We will have to plan some play dates later!

We had a non-smashed cake for everyone!

There was a buffet of yummy snacks!

Brendan got all dressed up in shoes and socks!

“I’ll get the door!”

Brendan was strutting his stuff tonight, and when a room full of people would burst in to applause, he would look around, beaming with a giant grin, and just eat up the attention. He was walking to everyone!

Trevor played shy and was a little envious. He read his birthday cards while Brendan got all the applause. Trevor eventually was giving everyone high-fives and then they would clap for him too. He would even run up and start clapping to try to get them to clap

They were spoiled with lots of gifts

Trevor is picking the “bubbles” off of the cake to eat (we have a ton of leftover cake and ice cream, who wants some??)

Brendan tackled Trevor tonight!

“Are you ok?”

Awwwww hugs

While everyone was cleaning up, Trevor figured nobody would notice if he got on to the kitchen table to get the iGuy

The face Gramma got when she asked what he was doing

Peeking Brendan

All ready for bed, still playing with the new toys

Gramma worked her butt off from dawn to dusk today cleaning, cooking, shopping, and caring for boys. She made this party possible. Bill scurried around getting the house in order and getting stuff clean too. We all are spent tonight! Thank you everyone for a nice second birthday!
