Year 2 – Week 51 – Day 4

Trevor spent all morning with me running grocery errands and mostly sitting in a shopping cart. He did take a nap, but was wound up this afternoon so I took him to the park. He enjoyed giving his Cheese Nips to the ducks.

He did a lot of running and playing.

He tried climbing this ladder

We have a little problem! I was actually impressed with his grip and arm strength. He held on very well!

I played a game with Brendan tonight while I tried to cook dinner

Spaghetti noodles, playdough cups, and “Apple Dapples” aka fruit loops (I didn’t come up with this, I stole it from someone who saw it on Pinterest)

Don’t cross the streams!

He checked out a mushroom

He was opening and closing and licking the cap of this bottle of dressing

So I put some on the top of the lid

“Thanks a lot, Mom”

Funny thing is, he went back and licked some more.

I stayed up way too late last night making Hopewalk t-shirts. The only way to find time for that kind of project is to give up some sleep. We all are exhausted today.

Year 2 – Week 51 – Day 3

The mornings are so nice and cool, we actually have to put pants and socks on Brendan! It has been getting in to the 50’s overnight and still pushing 90 in the heat of the afternoon. We are enjoying every bit of good outside time we can get.

Trevor broke out a new pair of hand-me-down Levi’s. Size 2T would be the perfect length for him if he could keep them up where they belong on his waist! He sags them halfway down his diaper.

Trevor learned the sign for “picnic” on one of the signing videos. He didn’t even know what a picnic was but he loved to copy the kids doing the sign. Then he found a picnic in one of his books. So we decided to try a “picnic” today.

It was a great time working on sharing, trading, please, and thank yous! They were so sweet! (later today Trevor had to sit in a time out for hitting Brendan with a toy, but the morning was awesome!)

Trevor was “helping” Bill overseed the lawn with the winter grass.

Brendan ATE some ketchup today. It might look terrible, but he was licking the ketchup out of his syringes. He probably ended up consuming about 1/2tsp, but it was still strong flavored food in his mouth!

Brendan is super loud when he wears his PMV, and Trevor still has some issues dealing with the noise. We help him cope with some earbuds and games.

I got about four solid hours of sleep last night. Brendan was up early and we had some technical difficulties with his food pump. I am hoping tonight goes better on Bill’s watch.

Year 2 – Week 51 – Day 2

Brendan received his ‘Airway Clearance Therapy’ Vest today and a woman from the company had to come out and train us on how to use it. We will be working on slowly introducing it to Brendan so he isn’t scared of it. It is a vest that inflates and then vibrates to help loosen mucus and clear Brendan’s lungs, especially when he is sick. It has a big loud machine and makes a lot of noise. It will be very helpful if we can get him to actually use it.

The weather was beautiful today so we had to go “OUT-SIIIDE!!” first thing this morning to play.

Trevor discovered that the neighbor’s dog can peek through an open brick in the wall

He still loves his own dogs

Time to try to get some sleep!
