Year 4 – Week 6 – Day 6

A picture may be worth 1000 words, but in this case it tells a totally fictional tale about the day.
We had about 20 minutes of fun in the rain and got some adorable pictures, but it was a real struggle to get through. Trevor did sleep through the night, but it wasn’t enough to make up for his week.

Here’s a few gems from Trevor today:

He woke up smiling, but he was very emotional and frustrated all day and threw big tantrums. I said, “What’s wrong, Trevor? I thought you woke up happy?” He says, “No! I woke up NAUGHTY!!!”

I was roasting this morning in fleece pajamas. While I was changing, I said, “Trevor, I am too hot in these pajamas.” He reaches out and touches my leg and says, “Whoa! You are actually hot!”

We were driving around trying to keep total nap-fail boys calm and we passed a nice green offroading Jeep with lots of upgrades on the freeway. I said, “Look Trevor, I would like to drive that Jeep.”
He says, “No!! It’s dangerous!”
Me: “What? Why?”
Trevor: “It isn’t safe. Green is yucky. You need a blue one!”

He found a nice big sheet of paper on the table and brought it to me and said, “I would like to ruin this.” At least he is honest.

I can’t wait until Brendan can tell us what he is thinking too. He had a lot to say today, but it all came out as, “Biiiiiig Robot!!!”

Brendan meets his in-home preschool teacher first thing tomorrow morning. I hope he feels well enough. It ought to be interesting.

  1. You really got some cute playing-in-the-rain pictures. πŸ™‚ I’m sorry to hear that the day overall was a struggle. πŸ™
I love the things Trevor says! He’s so funny, and yet, as you said, very honest at the same time. πŸ™‚ Some day he will read these things you wrote about his talking, and he’ll be very amused!
I hope all goes well with Brendan’s preschool teacher and he likes her. Poor Brendan didn’t look like his normal smiley self today.
Lots of love and hugs and get well thoughts and wishes,

( It’s one of my signature lines on the boards I visit online. ) I do hope you, Brendan, find *learning* as enjoyable as I do.

  3. Good afternoon from the East coast!! Wow..it is really raining in AZ!!!! Kind of wish it was raining like that here and I would go out and play also!! πŸ™‚ Trevor seems to be really loving it all!! Brendan seems a little unsure, or just not feeling so good! πŸ™ Happy to hear that Trevor did sleep but he may be at the age where the prednisone truly affects personality and soon he will be better and prednisone finished and back to his happy, adorable, busy self!! Hoping that Brendan feels better real soon and all of you are able catch your breath and get some restorative rest!!! Sending many hugs, lots of love and prayers!! πŸ™‚
