It has been a hectic and busy weekend. Trevor has been battling croup and Brendan is still fighting mild “winter crud”.
Brendan had an appointment at the GI doctor today. He weighs just over 29bs and is 36.6in tall. They are OK with his growth but think he needs a little calorie boost so we will just be mixing his formula to a slightly higher density.
He was a good boy at the doctor’s.

This picture is before we found out that the doctor wanted some bloodwork to check to see that the formula is providing his nutrition properly. They will look at things like Vitamin D and iron and see if his supplementation needs to be changed. The blood draw wasn’t so easy, but it is done.
Trevor stayed home with Bill and helped him to put a new complete flush kit in our leaky toilet. I wish I would have taken a video when I got home of his description of what he did. He told me the old valve was broken and the chain was rusted and the flapper got old! It was so cute in his words.

😉 🙂 Yeah, Trevor, you have to watch out for those “old flappers” 🙂 🙂 🙂
Your description of what was wrong and what had to be done to fix it, had to have been worth being there, to hear.
Brendan, I’m taking my Vitamin D, daily. Going into the VA again tomorrow. Having blood drawn is never a “fun” thing, I think I’m about a quart low now. 😉 🙂
Good afternoon from the cold East Coast!! We are finally home after an unsuccessful attempt to find warmth!! We did travel to the southern most point in the continental USA and wore our jackets…but there was sunshine in Key West!! Certainly was warmer than the East Coast or even IL !!!! For whatever reason, my computer and cell phone would not connect to WI-FI there…no matter what we tried…..so, it is nice catching up on the boys!! 🙂 Sure hope that Trevor’s croup is improving…it is such a scary frustrating illness. The boys loved the visit from Uncle Jon!! How great it was he could combine business with a visit!! Just love Brendan’s smile at his GI doctor’s visit. Hope his bloodwork shows good nutrition!! He does look wonderful!!! Sending prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂
I was so glad to talk with you and Brendan while you were going to and from the doctor.
So happy that, other than needing more calories, he’s doing so well!
Trevor is cute having a nap in his “nest”. I hope he feels better soon, and had a good night. I remember some of the episodes of croup with you…no fun, and very scary. I also had croup when I was little. Then, they used the vaporizers made of glass, with hot steam coming out…I’m amazed we never got burned! It loosened the wallpaper corners in the bedroom. 🙂
Lots of love and big hugs,
Gramma
