We made it! We had to buy tickets way in advance for the annual travelling Lego Kidsfest. I was so worried that someone would get sick and we wouldn’t be able to go. We made it!
The event was at the football stadium out on the west side of town, so we had to get up early. The boys decided that the stadium looked like a giant spaceship.

In the door and straight to the big mountain of Duplo blocks!

They had some giant sculptures made entirely of Lego bricks. Brendan had his favorites. I wish I could have looked at them more closely, but chasing these boys took all my concentration!

There were hundreds of building stations with buckets upon buckets of all the different types of Legos. This was the Mixels area.

This was the car building station. Brendan and I built a race car and then took it to the race ramps for a test.

Back to build some Duplos. Trevor loved these little conveyor belt ones.

All aboard the pirate ship! Pictured here are the boys friends’ Jack and Olivia. We saw them for all of 35 seconds and the kids all went in different directions. They didn’t have time for friends! Too much distraction!

These blocks are showing up everywhere we go!

Return to the Sea of Duplos, again

This was a “Master Builder” class where you had to construct a Lego structure and then test it out under the wrecking ball. The boys didn’t take the class, they just wanted to drop the wreckers.

There were so many neat characters and sculptures, but the boys wouldn’t stop for pictures.

The pictures make it seem serene and wide open. I tried to shoot when there were breaks in the people. This video captures the situation with a little more accuracy.
We only covered about 30% of the stuff to see and do this year, the boys were just not old enough to appreciate the rest. We will definitely go again! We wish we could have teleported some cousins out to join us.
We had to take some super overstimulated, tired and hungry boys out of there kicking and screaming. They did a great job all things considered. Then they did NOT nap on the 45min drive home!!

They have actually had a lot of energy this afternoon. Where does it all come from!? Daddy took a nap, and Mommy needs one! I bet they fall asleep early tonight!
More big adventures tomorrow! We will need a few weeks to recover!

Wow, that’s a lot of Legos!!! That’s also a lot kids! 🙂
There are so many cute pictures with big smiles and happy faces, but I have a few personal favorites. I love the picture of Brendan and Trevor standing at the racetrack table, with Brendan’s chin just above the table! The of Bill with his head in the robot board is very funny! Trevor is so cute taking Brendan by his hand to go on to the next area! Brendan is cute trying to hold all of the blue balls at the some time! In fact, as I review the pictures, they are ALL my personal favorites! 😉
Can’t wait to see what’s on the agenda for tomorrow. Wish I was there to see all the fun in person, but sure am glad to see all the pictures.
Love and hugs and kisses,
Gramma xo
😉 😉 “Gigabits”, of Lego 😮 🙂 🙂
You will have a couple of VERY jealous cousins once they see these pictures! We would have gladly teleported in for the event, and I would have needed to drag my two out kicking and screaming too!
The pictures are so awesome! To see how far these two boys have come, how much they are growing into little people in training, is such a testament to all that you and Bill have sacrificed and done. Hope your adventures tomorrow are as exciting!
Let me amend my earlier statement. I would have needed to drag three people out kicking and screaming (Uncle Kevin heard about this trip!). Truthfully, I would have been in there too until security kicked me out!
