Year 3 – Week 29 – Day 6

As the day has gone by, my body aching, swollen glands, sore throat, light-headed yuckiness has gotten worse. It is a good thing that I already have a doctor’s appt tomorrow afternoon. Brendan had some yellow color to his trach secretions and had a fever overnight and on and off all day so we called his pediatrician. They got us in in under 30 minutes!
The doc says that the wildfire burning in San Diego is causing our air quality to be terrible, and many people with respiratory afflictions are really struggling right now. He said it is a horrible time to have an infection too so he started him on “bug juice”, aka Augmentin for 10 days.
Trevor at least seems to be doing better and slept in until 7am, and Bill seems healthy so far!

I hope we caught this in time that Brendan can feel better quickly. He has his dance partner, Buzz to keep him company.

He can protect him from the scary part in movies too.

Trevor loves the beginning of the movie Frozen with all the ice-sawing and snowflakes. I love watching a movie with Trevor, because he will narrate in detail everything that is going on in each scene and it is adorable. I didn’t have time to film him watching the whole movie tonight though! 🙂

Year 3 – Week 29 – Day 5

Today started at 4:30am with Trevor waking up. I really hope that he sleeps through the night tonight because we are working in a brain fog this week. Brendan had a long morning too and got tired of waiting for Trevor to take a nap. Poor little guy!

Bill and Trevor went to Game Stop for a fun outing and came home with a $9 Xbox game of Wall-E!

They were very interested.

They both really got a kick out of being able to control Wall-E and Eve around the screen. It is a cute game.

Year 3 – Week 29 – Day 4

There were a lot of challenges today. Last night, Trevor went to bed perfectly at 8PM and woke up 2.5hrs later with a low grade fever. He must have just felt terrible, because he simply could not lie still and sleep. He was restless, he would cry if I set him down. I gave up at 3am and just climbed into his bed to try to get some sleep. By 6am, we were up for the day.
Today we had all the big meetings about Brendan’s care plan and therapies. We very nearly lost an 8hr nursing shift but they took pity on me and allowed us to keep it one more cycle. We can count on losing it on the next review period, and probably more. I hope that things are a lot different by then.

We started talking about Brendan starting preschool. He is too young to be considered for the session that starts this fall with his October birthday, but this summer we will be meeting with the local school district to discuss his options. The whole idea is so strange and a bit scary!

Trevor seems a bit better tonight, but the lack of sleep really affects him. (Me too!)

Brendan has a new favorite toy ever. He is so attached to Buzz Lightyear. He will carry him around all day, cuddle him, fly him, pretend like he is walking, swing him, tap him, shake hands, etc. I tried to capture the cuteness, but he wouldn’t do the best stuff for the camera!
