Year 3 – Week 5 – Day 7 – Happy Thanksgiving!

We meant to have a day of doing a whole lot of nothing and that is pretty much how it went! Other than tending to the crazies, we were pretty lazy. I made some nice turkey lettuce wraps with leftovers, the boys stayed in pajamas most of the day, watched the parade, and played iGuy.
I am thankful for days that are simple. (as simple as possible around here anyway)

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving day. We are thinking of Gramma and hoping she starts to feel better soon.

Here is something from the boys. I couldn’t find the good paint, but this will do! Happy Thanksgiving!

Year 3 – Week 5 – Day 6

We did our Thanksgiving turkey dinner today in the hopes that tomorrow could be restful. The food was really good, but the day and especially the dinner were very trying. Some days just feel like every moment is a battle. Every minute, a toddler is either breaking something, making an epic mess, teetering on the edge of danger, banging his head on the floor in frustration (which is now Brendan’s thing), or just plain having an all out meltdown.
I barely remember eating, but I managed to eat way too much anyway!

Earlier in the day, Trevor “helped” in the kitchen.
“Let me tell you how all this ground beef got in the truck”

Washing dishes means I had to mop the floor too

Two boys, two drumsticks! Should be perfect, right?

Trevor just wanted eggnog for dinner

Brendan licked a fork with gravy on it.

Then he hid the food from his tray under the table cloth

I tried to get a picture of Brendan modelling his hat

I feel this way too

I am grateful for my family, even on days that they push me to my limits. Even though it was utter chaos, I am glad that we were able to sit at the table together and have a traditional meal.

We are sorry that Gramma is still so sick, and we hope things start to turn around soon. Feel better!

Year 3 – Week 5 – Day 5

It was like Santa Claus came to our house early today! It was quite a day. Trevor has had a recent fascination with car washes, so I decided to take him to a big car wash where you can get out and watch the car go through.
He was in awe.

After lunch, the UPS truck pulled up and dropped off a bunch of boxes. Aunt Erin, Uncle Jules, and Caleb are getting their shopping done super early. They sent a monster truck launcher and a play-doh garbage truck! Trevor thought the truck was the coolest thing.

305t26

He was so engrossed in his mini garbage truck that he all but ignored the big one when it came by!!

The other boxes required some assembly. Great Grandma sent the boys their very first two-wheelers!! These are FirstBikes, and they have no pedals. Trevor hopped right on like he had been riding for years. Even Brendan loves them. We had to order the little lowering kits for the frame because they are just a hair too tall still for them to use them. I can’t wait to take them outside!

The other gift they got today was a set of super cute animal hats and mittens. One is a tiger and one is a monkey. They couldn’t wear the hats with their helmets, but the mittens were cute for going on a trike ride! Thanks Mary Alyn, the boys loved their paws!
They both had a great ride tonight. I took Brendan out for a 25 minute ride and he did not want it to be done. Bill took Trevor for a spin as soon as we got back.

(Brendan has a fat lip because he slipped and landed on his face last night)
