Week 36 – Day 4

Too much to do tonight, just going to share some quick pictures. Aunt Shannon arrived safely!

Trevor has a story to tell

“They put me in this new crib…”

“…and it was THIS BIG!!”

Trevor heard Aunt Shannon was visiting, and he has plans for her. Heh, heh, heh.

Brendan spent ALL afternoon in his bouncy seat, bouncing like crazy. He learned how to kick his legs just right so that the bouncy seat really flies. His little legs were making up for lost time, kicking and kicking and kicking. We called him the little kickin’ chicken.

He did a lot of giggling

Brendan had another successful trach tube change tonight and it went smoothly. He handled it so well and didn’t even cry!

Week 36 – Day 3 – “Brendan 2 : Trevor 0”

Somebody cut another tooooooth! He is rather proud of it too. Trevor is drooling like a faucet and chewing but there is still not a tooth in sight.

The boys spent quite a while playing on the floor today. They were both super awake and not interested in napping.

Trevor is getting stronger. He rocks back and forth pretty well, he just needs to work on his coordination! He had a visit from his physical therapist today, and she was impressed with all of his new tricks.

After showing off for the therapist and being full of smiles, Trevor pulled out the big pout lip

Brendan tried some tummy time on the floor too

I’d say this one is “Brendan 1 : Crabbie 0”

Week 36 – Day 2

One of the things that our speech therapist recommended for Brendan is that he should sit with Trevor at meal time, watch him eating, and participate as much as he would like to. He should be allowed to get food on his fingers and try to put it in his mouth. He should play with spoons. He should get little tastes even though he is not eating any real amount of food. I think he did a great job today, he really enjoyed it, and he may have ingested 1/4 of a teaspoon of Pear-Squash baby food and liked it.

The boys each in their cool highchairs.

Brendan was still putting his hands in his mouth a lot because his second little tooth is close to cutting through

He did a good job with his spoon, and got a bit of food in his mouth (plus some in his eyelashes and some in his eyebrow)

Trevor usually gets fed, but seeing Brendan made him want to do it by himself too!

Every day we will have to continue to work with Brendan and let him explore foods in the most positive way that we can!

Trevor decided that he was done with his mobile today and kicked it over the rail

He was just trying to make the point that his crib was too small!

Good thing that the new big crib arrived today!! Look how spacious!

Trevor making sure that he has “claimed” this crib by licking it.

Meanwhile, Brendan got a tour of the house with his mobile oxygen tank today. He was needing to escape his corner for a while. He also went to the kitchen for a nice bubble bath.
Gramma got to help with the bath and combed out his fuzzy head.

Brendan’s colon test was scheduled for Monday morning. As soon as he has that test, we will be waiting for a surgery date!
