Week 34 – Day 1

Today was Brendan’s first big excursion since his ambulance ride home. He had to go to the hospital for a cardiac checkup and an echocardiogram. I have to say I am proud of him for how well he did with the packing, the car trip and the clinic visit. He got super mad about the echo and getting that gel all over himself. He especially didn’t like them pushing so hard on his belly.

His NP gave him this cute shirt when he got discharged, so he had to put it on to go see her today. It is very fitting for Brendan!

He had the whole whale double stroller to himself and all his gear

“um.. this is questionable tube placement”

Brendan weighed 17lbs 13oz today. He got really good comments from all the staff and saw a couple of his favorite nurses.

We have to pass the weird rabbit on the second floor.

While Brendan had a super busy day with his travelling and then a trach tube change, Trevor got to spend the day alone with Gramma.

Trevor has a ton of energy in the evenings and moves a LOT. He is a blur to photograph.

We were all too tired to cook tonight. Good thing that there is a great place for fish’n’chips to go just a mile down the road. mmmmmmmmmm

Days like today are mentally exhausting. I am just relieved to report that Brendan’s echo went very well. His results were all positive. His heart function is normal, no leaky valves, no narrowing of vessels, no signs of trouble. Woohooo!
