Year 2 – Week 4 – Day 1

Oops, we thought that today was a lazy day with no appointments, no therapists, no events.. but we forgot we had an appointment at 3:30pm today to get Brendan the first of five of his RSV vaccinations. Bill remembered it at 3:12pm and we scrambled to get the boys in the car and go. Fortunately it was really quick and we were home without too much mess.
Trevor just hung out and explored the van while Bill took Brendan in to the doctor.

Trevor slept almost through the night, he was up at 2:30am for about a half hour. Then he slept until 8:30am! But then the whole day gets out of whack and he ended up having just shy of an hour of nap the whole day. By dinner time, he was so done, he would just put his head down anywhere!!

But he refused to sleep!

The boys did have a chance to video chat with Gramma today. They were both silly for that.
Brendan was having a blast.

Then Trevor dropped in!

And almost got chomped!

Other than getting the shot, Brendan had a nice easy day of rest and play. He is getting a break before weaning commences again.
Trevor had a ton of play today too, he is so spoiled!! I firmly believe that to make a baby instantly happy, all you have to do is give a baby something perilous. I let Trevor have his scooter by himself. He is proving he can get off of it without wipeouts now! Getting big!

Year 2 – Week 3 – Day 7

There is a lot of significance about today, and I will probably forget some of the things I wanted to mention. First, happy birthday to Grandaddy/aka trainsdad! We hope train fest was a great success this year and all went smoothly.

Today also marks the anniversary of a very special day last year. It is the day that little Trevor came home from the hospital!! Our first night with a newborn was something else, that seems like a lifetime ago. Here’s just a few shots from that day in 2011:

And here is my little t now!

“You’ve had your picture now. See ya folks!”

“I am outta here!”

It was actually a pretty nice morning. The boys both slept well and were in a good mood. Brendan woke up and had to play all of his turns in Words With Friends.

He caught up on the blog too, he has to keep tabs on his brother.

He sorted his barrel of toys

Trevor played in the toy area, he did not spend the whole morning trying to get where he did not belong. They sat and played together peacefully for almost an hour. I thought I must be in the wrong house.
Since the kitchen was a little chilly and Trevor’s reach is getting too long, he gets baths in the big boy tub. He had a very long playtime bath today with the bubble machine and everything.

The afternoon was not as smooth. Brendan had enough of Trevor stealing his toys. Note that this is not really a crying Brendan, this is the “I am really mad at Trevor and I am going to act out my meltdown” face.

We won’t even talk about the “Lake of Poop” incident that required a complete bedding change.

The evening wasn’t so bad. We were all relaxing after dinner and the boys were playing. Usually when Trevor goes to get in his jammies, he stops to get a milk bone for the dogs. I guess the dogs were just done with waiting for him because Eins (65lb, 3 legged dog) decides to enter the closed baby jail by leaping up on to the back of the couch!!!!
He perched there precariously long enough for me to say, “WTF!?!?” and then he jumped in to the room. My jaw hung open. He has never done anything like that. Trevor thought it was hysterical!

I did some grocery shopping tonight after the boys were in bed. It was weird going to the store without Trevor!
I hope they sleep well tonight!

Year 2 – Week 3 – Day 6

Trevor slept through the night!!!
Super fuzzy, fleece footie pajamas did the trick. He woke up a little at 5am while Bill was moving around getting ready for work, but he lie right back down by himself and he slept until 6:50am. I feel so bad that it could have been something as simple as his feet being cold that made him sleep so poorly.
Since I got some rest, today was all about getting things done! (and being thwarted by a Trevor at every turn)
I emptied the all the different drawers and shelves in Trevor’s room and boxed up or threw away or gave away all of the old stuff to make room for all of the new stuff. All of the boys’ new clothes are washed and sorted and put away right. New sizes, new season, now it is all organized. What should have taken maybe an hour took all day long, with Trevor either crying, napping so I couldn’t be in the room, or undoing what I just put away.
I am tired, I didn’t take a single picture until late tonight but I feel good getting a big task off of the checklist.

Even toaster-baby Brendan has been chilly at night, so tonight he gets to wear some lightweight pajamas. He looks so cute in jammies! Brendan had an OK day, he is showing signs of the methadone withdrawal again. I believe he may be methadone free by Christmas, that would be an awesome accomplishment.

Trevor is so cuddly in his jammies, I just can’t help but squeeze him all the time. He knows he is cute.

Coincidentally, he camouflages perfectly in Brendan’s bed!

Bill and Brendan always have an evening nap together. Trevor wants to climb up there too.

Tomorrow is the last day of antibiotics for Brendan, and he should be through his next phase of withdrawal so we can give him a few days to rest before we have to drop the dose again.

I simply refuse to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. It isn’t possible. It was just in the 90’s here a few days ago, it isn’t the holiday season yet!!
