Year 2 – Week 27 – Day 1 – A Very Merry Unbirthday!

Happy half-birthday to my two adorable little guys! 18 months old! I can’t believe we are half way through year 2.

Today started with a little bit of chaos. There was a new recycle truck driver and he got the route all messed up. We heard him in the neighborhood really early and he went up and down the neighborhood streets in a weird order. We had to hang out outside waiting to see when he would come down our side of the street.
Since Bill was working, Brendan had to come out with us.

He wasn’t happy about it unless we were moving.

We did see the mailman while we were waiting. Reading the mail made Brendan calm down.

We finally saw the truck go by and I got both boys in bed for naps. Less than an hour later, UPS dropped off a box, the dogs went bonkers and both naps were over.

When Bill was done with work, Trevor and I ran a couple of errands. We made dinner and the boys got a little treat. They knew something was up!

One-and-a-half funfetti cupcakes with rainbow chip frosting for my one-and-a-half year olds!

Trevor was excited

Brendan was pretending they were not on his tray, he just watched Trevor intently

I made him touch the cupcake and he was not excited

Cupcake explosion!

Trevor made sure to help get some frosting on Brendan

“There is a speck of frosting on my tray”

My two silly cuties!

I found this broom today for $1.00! It had a full length handle but Bill cut it down. It makes it perfect Trevor size.

He loves it!

Considering the short naps, the boys were very good tonight. There is another post coming up shortly for tonight with a bunch more photos. I was camera crazy today!

Year 2 – Week 26 – Day 7

It was a good Wednesday. There was nothing scheduled, no appointments, no visitors, no trips. Just lots of play time.

We were outside as much as possible this morning. Brendan is getting to where he does not want to be in baby jail anymore.

“Let me ouuuut!!!!”

“Just kidding”

Here’s a little video to showcase Brendan’s talking!

Brendan took a crazy long 3hr nap today, so when Trevor woke up from his nap, we went outside to play with the sprinkler. It was in the 90’s today so it was perfect weather for it.
I tried to put Trevor in the grass, but Arizona summer grass is terrible and he did NOT like it. He wouldn’t put his hands down and didn’t know how to stand up, so he just cried for me to help him!

There were far too many cute sprinkler pictures and I couldn’t narrow them down, so here are a ton of them. He is a water baby for sure!!

I was hoping Brendan could have a little water play too, but he slept so long. He had to just play in his tub.

And then while he was getting his trach care, someone jumped in his leftover bathwater!

I didn’t realize that they put a baby on the side of the diaper box because there is a baby in the box with the diapers!

Sure enough, the other box had one too!

Trevor thought Brendan’s box looked more comfortable. Brendan wasn’t thrilled to have Trevor on his lap!

Brendan wore his PMV for almost 10hrs today, it is good to be getting back to making progress!

Year 2 – Week 26 – Day 6

I have a lot of cuteness to share today. Loud little Brendan had a good day, but he did an awful lot of yelling! He is very demanding when he is wearing his PMV. He wants his mommy all the time and just wants to cry if I am not holding him on my lap. He cries louder if I am holding Trevor! He cried for both PT and OT. He cried loud any time I left the room.
If I stay out of the room, he does settle down and plays with his nurse or therapists, but if he catches sight of me or hears me, he cries!
He has a lot of learning to do about using his voice. I still am happy to hear him, and he is especially cute now that he says “Vavavavava”. I like to think he is trying to say “Trevor!” 🙂

The boys had a great time in their castle early this morning.

It isn’t always crying!

Trevor is learning about the slippery property of a slide.

I buy lots of the little squeeze pouches of baby food because Trevor likes them so much. I picked up some on sale that were organic veggie blends. Most of the veggie pouches have apple or pear puree added to make them taste good. Now I know why. These blends were the blandest, yuckiest mushes I have tasted. Trevor wouldn’t eat them, and he eats almost everything.
But guess who would eat them? Brendan!! Bland is his favorite. He ate TWENTY bites of green bean, zucchini and potato blend. It even was a course, lumpy puree.
YAY BRENDAN!!

Being Tuesday, Trevor had to go out right after lunch and wait for the garbage truck. He can’t go down for his nap until the truck has done both sides of the street. While he waited, he wanted to play with the hose.

Sprinkler!!

He loves playing in the water, but he was on the lookout

There it is! The driver knows Trevor is always waiting now and even beeped his horn for him.

Poor horse

It was oxygen refill day today. Brendan gets the tanks all ready.

Another super busy Tuesday is behind us!
