Year 2 – Week 26 – Day 5

Nothing special about this Monday to report, just the usual chaos. We played outside most of the morning while the temperature was perfect. Both boys love the new climber, I just couldn’t take pictures of them on it today because I needed both hands free!

They still love their empty sandbox too. I will put the sand back in it again someday!

When it started to get too warm we had to come inside. I don’t think they were done outside!

They found plenty to do inside though

Both boys absolutely adore Yo Gabba Gabba, but there is one episode called “Scary” where Brobee drops his sandwich on the ground. When he tries to eat it, the bread cries out, “Stop! Don’t eat me! I’m dirty!”. It looks really worried too.

There is this really discordant music and the robot comes to show Brobee with a magnifying glass that there are Tiny Ugly Germs. (and they sing)

This scene makes Brendan cry! I thought it was coincidence at first and that something else was bothering him, but it is definitely this scene of the show. He really gets upset. The poor upset toast and the mean germs just bother him too much.

Brendan did a great job with his PMV today. The biggest trouble is the CONSTANT popping off of the oxygen line. I am so tired of chasing him to reconnect it and I have to devise a way to hold it in place.

Trevor helps me scold Brendan for pulling it off himself. (although Trevor is partially to blame for the numerous pullings)

To keep Trevor from wanting Brendan’s oxygen, I tried putting a piece of tubing on this horse for him. It worked for a while.

Daddy gets some cuddle time while I make dinner

Trevor ate a whole green chile chicken enchilada by himself. He liked it so much, he had to lick the serving spatula too!

Poor Brendan has some wicked diaper rash and a little loose stool from the antibiotic he is taking. Only a few more days are left of that. Hopefully he continues to improve through the week!

Year 2 – Week 26 – Day 4

It was another one of those days where I had no idea just how busy and fun it would be when I got up this morning. Brendan wore his PMV for 5 hours and did very well. I knew I was missing his little voice without it, but I had no idea how much until I heard him singing and talking again today, or even crying. Trevor likes his voice too, although he will not leave the oxygen line to the PMV alone!!

Bill and Robert worked very hard outside all day today. Things are really coming along so well! Trevor just wanted to watch the men being busy and using power tools.

He sat in the stuffed animal bucket and chewed on a snake while watching Yo Gabba Gabba.

Gramma wanted to see how he got behind the fence. He finds things to step on. He doesn’t usually struggle this much but these shorts limit his flexibility a little.

Trevor had to sweep outside to get the play area ready for an unexpected Craigslist score. Bill dropped what he was doing and ran to get it because it was a great deal and it was first come first serve.

Daddy cleans and entertains at the same time. Trevor is very curious! This climber has a ladder, a slide, a wheel and two rock wall/climbers with a hideout underneath. Other than sun fading changing the color, it is in perfect shape.

Trevor was thrilled!

Brendan was excited too!

It didn’t take Trevor long to figure out how to climb up the slide. He can do the ladder, and with a little foot guidance, he does the short rock wall and climbs through the hole. We will save the tall rock wall side for later!
The best thing to do for a climbing baby (since you can not stop them!) is to teach them to climb safely. I hope this is a good tool and energy outlet for both boys!

Brendan is quick to copy!

Full hideout!

Year 2 – Week 26 – Day 3

With the boys’ 18month-old milestone approaching, I thought I should try to set up and take a couple “good” photos. What a failure! My lighting was bad, setup was awkward, and focus was off. Not to mention, attitudes of cooperation were nowhere to be found. Good thing there is time to try again.

Brendan was all excited to help set up the equipment

There were a few ok shots.

And the rest… disaster

Brendan was content to play with his “diversion” suction pump pieces. He had a good day, tomorrow we start pushing him back to where he was before he got sick.

Trevor might have a tooth bothering him. He ate a whole white-grape juice popsicle.

Trevor has a thing or two to show Kieran about happy dancing. Or maybe this should be called the ecstatic dance.
