Year 2 – Week 40 – Day 7

There are tons of pictures today! We haven’t made huge progress with oxygen or anything, but Brendan was feeling pretty well today and we had a busy day.

This morning when Trevor woke up, he was just extra emotional and frustrated. He wanted to hit Brendan and cried any time Brendan moved or made a sound. It was sad! The best thing to do for both boys in this instance is to separate them, so I took Trevor on a quick outing.

The public library had a little display this week by a local model train club, the “Big Train Operators”. Free and closeby made it the perfect outing. Trevor liked the trains!

He especially liked the long train hauling construction equipment

Oops, derailment

With Trevor worn out from his outing, Brendan says, “Finally! The popper is all mine!”

Tasty popper, Trevor won’t notice a few teeth marks

Maniacal laugh!!

On the last day of each month, we have made a goal to bake a homemade treat. The idea is for that treat to be the only indulgence we allow each month and the rest of the time we are trying to eat healthier. This time the boys came in to the kitchen to help me bake.

Trevor was good at sifting flour

Brendan got a turn too

Trevor got a special beater to lick. He is a pro

Brendan is a pro at throwing anything that might be food on the floor

He will lick on the clean, unused beaters

Trevor says, “I am full”

Brendan is spoiled rotten. He is still a great actor too and he uses his “skills” to try to get his way. He went through all these faces within a 5 minute window.

Superhero Brendan now has an alter-ego. This disguise is so cunning, nobody will recognize him!

Then Trevor stole his glasses

He recovers quickly when he gets the glasses back, the tears are still there

Silly

More silly

Oops, then we made him touch an olive

But an olive is OK if he can feed it to Daddy

As we put Brendan to bed tonight, his sats are looking good enough that we will try to turn him down to 4L. He did a good job with his therapist today on top of everything. Hopefully he will be feeling 100% for when his cousins come to visit in ten days!!

Year 2 – Week 40 – Day 6

It is exhausting having a sick Brendan. There is this pit in our stomachs that just kind of sits and churns as we wait to see if he is going to improve or get worse. His lungs still sound junky, he is back to 5L and he is getting his breathing treatments. Apart from all that, he is acting like his normal spunky, active, spoiled self. We just keep doing what we can to get him healthy.

Trevor got a new toy in the clearance bin at Michael’s of all places. It was marked down to $2.50 so we couldn’t pass it up. He kept calling it a balloon, but it was a lizard sprinkler that went on the hose.

He was unsure at first, but I think I had it turned up too high

I don’t know why I take so many pictures of water-Trevor. Maybe just because they are so cute

“What’s that? Garbage truck?” To answer Aunt Letty’s question – Trevor is a super loyal garbage truck fan and he is out there every Tuesday and Thursday without fail if we are at home.

He is sure he hears the truck now

It was too early, turns out it was on the street perpendicular to ours but he saw it go by

Back to silly water pictures

Trevor has a new love for airplanes and has to stop and watch them go overhead

All done, water-lizard-balloon

He has to wash the mud off of his trunks and shoes

I thought drinking from your shoe was reserved for champagne on special occasions

Brendan couldn’t play in the water but he had plenty of fun inside. He has a new trick where he lifts the play mats up high with his feet and then he can run toys underneath

Here it is, dinner time again. High chair. Can you hear the big sigh?

He is trying to stab the camera with a fork

Both boys had really short naps today so I am wiped out and they should be too! I hope they both get a good night of sleep!

Year 2 – Week 40 – Day 5

Monday.. blech! I didn’t know it was going to be a giant Undo day, but the house was a mess from a rough week and it just happened.

The boys are such good helpers with sorting

Brendan can almost get in the toybox all by himself now

Brendan had a pretty good day. My arms are going to fall off, I have been beating on his chest and back as much as possible and he got several breathing treatments. He is down to 4L for now and just hanging in there.
We just have to keep moving in the right direction.
