Year 3 – Week 14 – Day 5

It was a whirlwind day and it went by so fast!
We chased the garbage truck through the neighborhood this morning. Brendan and Trevor both took a long walk seeing the big green truck pop in and out of all the side streets and cul-de-sacs.
Brendan had speech therapy this afternoon and his therapist is impressed with the new sounds he is making. She said that every time she visits, he has accomplished something new and he is amazing. “Really chugging along,” she says.

It was mega nap fail day. Brendan got to bed too late and had to be woken up for his therapy appointment. Trevor was super tired, but just too wired. He was in his bed for a while but did not sleep a wink.
I let him roll around a while, he took the frogs off the wall again and played with them. After a bit, I checked his camera and he wasn’t in his bed! I had to pan around to see where he was.

“Who, me?”

Some relatives from Chicagoland are thawing in AZ this week. We were very happy to see them all! And check this out.. the sewing table can be used for meals!
314bt19

The boys did a good job at dinner. They let me mostly sit and eat. Trevor got his “too many pockles?” for being a good boy.
314t15

Brendan yelled because he wanted one too. I gave him one, and then he yelled because Trevor had two and he wanted two as well.

It was hilarious watching him lick the popsicle, make a twitchy “sour and cold” face, then go back for another lick!

314b12

Sweet dessert is on the table!

Beth, Steve, and Glenna wore these boys out. With the nap fail and the very busy evening, they were both sound asleep in bed by 8:30!

Year 3 – Week 14 – Day 4

Today felt like I was on some kind of demented hidden camera/game show designed to find my breaking point. Everything was a battle. The day started with being covered with a massive amount of vomit, and Brendan needed a lot of suctioning today. I guess I should not have said anything about him handling the change so well. If the boys weren’t fighting, they were dumping and throwing things everywhere. I couldn’t change one’s diaper without the other doing something to cause trouble or injury. Now that Trevor can open doors with ease, he doesn’t feel the need to stay where I can see him either.
It was screaming tantrums for bath time and some kind of epic war to get fingernails trimmed.

Dumping a giant bag of blocks bought about 7 minutes of peace.

314bt16

After a knock down war over who could push the wagon, Brendan finally climbed in by himself and a few more minutes of quiet occurred.
314bt17

314bt18

He climbed in and out several times, but sometimes it just didn’t work right.

We received a Christmas package from Pittsburgh today. Perfect timing! Both boys liked playing with the new bed sheets for Trevor’s bed.
314t11

314t12

I just spread a sheet on the couch and they thought it was pretty cool.

Trevor is taking the sheets to the wash.

Another Monday is behind us and an eventful week begins. Tomorrow we have company and then Friday we have a pulmonary appointment. January will be gone in a blink!

Year 3 – Week 14 – Day 3

Today was the opposite of yesterday. We were so busy getting stuff done, I don’t remember sitting down all day. We had our normal Sunday morning grocery run. Then the boys helped me to mow the lawn!

“Trevor do it!”
314t10

Brendan was supposed to be relaxing while eating, but he had to come get involved too.
314bt12

Brendan mowed the back yard.
314bt13

For one sweet moment, the two of them pushed the cart together and it was extremely adorable. Then the fighting resumed.
314bt14

Brendan has adjusted very well to his calorie increase. No problems! At the store this morning, we got him some pretzel rods. He loves them! He licks all the salt off of every inch and then hands me this almost floppy wet pretzel rod.

While the boys napped, I finally finished their car wash! The grand opening meant a huge line! 🙂

While cooking dinner tonight, Trevor chopped onions until his eyes burned!
314t07

Taco night! Trevor likes his taco with just meat, extra sharp cheddar, and lots of sour cream. He would eat a bowl of sour cream with a spoon if I would let him.
314t08

314t09

Brendan vehemently pushes away the taco. He didn’t even want it near his tray!

We checked lots of chores off of our to-do list, even though Bill still had to be working for a good part of the day.

To close, here is a long video of Trevor demonstrating the car wash (with the sounds of Brendan playing iGuy in the background).
