Year 2 – Week 30 – Day 1

Today’s adventures were nowhere near as exciting as yesterday. We did a ton of laundry, some sorting and cleaning, and watched some Yo Gabba Gabba.

The boys were both a little crabby this morning. Trevor hasn’t been sleeping great and he has been up real early in the morning. I think he might be getting a big tooth in. I was getting so frustrated with all the whining, and then I had an idea. Make something old new again. It worked for a good amount of time!

It started with an empty toybox

But it turned in to a cool fort

The changing of the guard

Sharing is hard

Hmmm, I wonder where Brendan went?

Hide and Seek is tough!

Here is a quick montage of some of the antics of the day.

We waited tonight to give Brendan his bath until after the blog was done. He has been playing and busy all evening, now I hope that he will go to bed without so much fuss!

Year 2 – Week 29 – Day 7

It was an action packed Wednesday (Wednesdays are supposed to be down days!) I took Trevor for an outing so that Brendan could play without interference.

It was already 85 degrees by 8am so we had to go out early. It turns out it was perfect, we almost had the park to ourselves! The water play area that we went for didn’t start to run until 9am so we had to kill a little time in the playground.

Trevor didn’t mind! He rode a quad.

There were at least ten slides to climb on!

There were ramps

And bridges

Waiting for 9am with a “Hi, Mommy!”

The exclamation from Trevor when the water started was hilarious! “ooooohhhh!!!”

It was so nice to have the place to ourselves. By midday, this little water play area gets PACKED with rowdy kids of all ages and it would be no place for Trevor to be.

He was unsure about this fountain, he would not touch it

He just watched from a distance until it cycled to the next thing

Wrapped a baby up in towels, ready to go home for lunch!

Before lunch, we still had time for some Brendan chasing hallway craziness

Brendan ate some cinammon applesauce!! And he kind of liked it!

“Oh no, did you get this on camera?”

nom nom nom

Later in the day, he played with, hid, and smashed some cheerios.

“It may look like I am eating them…”

“…but I just lick ’em and flick ’em”

I had to add to Trevor’s chores list. Now he has to wash dishes too!

He has to scrub out all the bottles

Trevor is in bed, and now it is time to try to rock Brendan. I hope he doesn’t stay up until 10pm tonight!

Year 2 – Week 29 – Day 6

The blog is late tonight because a certain Li’l B just did not want to go to bed! And when he finally did go to sleep, the dogs had to go and bark randomly and wake him up again. I just got him put down at 10PM.
Trevor is such an amazing bedtime baby because we worked very hard to get him in to a pattern that works. He goes to bed between 7-7:15, awake or asleep and doesn’t cry about it. He listens to his aquarium soother or his seahorse music and is asleep within 20 minutes. But it took a lot of time letting him be in his crib alone, even crying, to get him to that point. You can’t leave Brendan in his crib alone and expect to not have to tend to him within minutes. He either disconnects his vent, opens the port on his feed line so formula leaks everywhere, picks his pulse-ox probe so that the alarm goes off, he cries so much that he needs suctioning, or he just gets tangled up in wires and needs rescuing. Or lately, he stands in the crib and bangs the handles on the oxygen tanks. So we have a baby that is fiercely spoiled and gets rocked and cuddled when he is restless.

It was mega-busy today. Brendan had a great PT session this morning and was very active and cooperative. He practiced his “getting down” skills and also cruising and trying to pull up on flat walls. Then we had our appointment with the state. The good news is that our nursing hours do not get cut this time, they will be reviewed again in 90 days. Then we had to write Brendan’s new annual IFSP and set all his new goals for services, at the same time I made lunch for Trevor and got him down for a nap.

When Trevor woke up, he was on a mission to go out and get the mail!

“What do you mean, I missed the garbage truck!!?”

“Hi, Mommy!”

“Hi, Mommy!” (It is like he is checking to be sure I am still watching him run circles around the driveway!)

Mission successful

This afternoon, Brendan had his OT. He got to play with A very bright wavy parachute. He handled it really well!

It was like a circus tent

He also got to play in the tunnel with Trevor

Brendan has a new trick to show off today. By the end of the evening, he had mastered it, of course. There is also some other random cuteness in this video.

Fortunately, we have nothing on our schedule tomorrow. It will most likely be a Trevor outing morning and then taking it easy in the afternoon!
