Week 12 – Day 6

Just another day, nothing huge to report. Dealing with mucous management to keep little ones comfortable, Brendan had a little bloody nose for a while too. I stepped up the saline mists and he doesn’t even seem to mind me doing it, I think it feels better.
Timing today has been off so our hands have been full non-stop. Some days definitely have a better rhythm than others.

Thanks very much Amber from the mom’s club for stopping by with dinner, it looks awesome. She even made cheddar biscuits. yummm

This picture may look a lot like yesterday’s! Sleep time is the only time I could pick up the camera.

Brendan has spent a lot of time today being held. He is allowed tummy time now, but we support him so that he isn’t lying on his ostomy bag. Being on his tummy helps him with his congestion a bit.
I finally got him comfortable enough to go to bed. I am proud to say that he has had no mitts on all day and has left his face pretty much alone.

Sleeping on his side for a while

This is a video I took the night before last. Whenever the boys are awake and calm, I put them together. I had no idea this night that they would be happy to lie there and stare at each other for two solid hours. Trevor even went well past his normal feeding time. They made noises and pawed at each other and just stared and were as content as could be from 10PM until almost midnight. I was stuck supervising when I desperately wanted to sleep, but I couldn’t break them up, it was too cute.

All the crackling sound is Trevor kicking wildly and crunching a package of wipes that I left in the bed after changing Brendan.

Now off for a nap while the boys are sleeping at the same time!

Week 12 – Day 5

Sleepy babies make me sleepy so this will be a quick update!

Brendan wakes up often with his little coughs. The “Snotsucker 9000” aspirator I ordered for him did not arrive today so now it won’t come in the mail until Tuesday. We will have to get by with the little bulb for now. The saline mist does seem to help him. His little swing has a pretty strong vibrate mode and that makes him more comfortable to.

Trevor must be having a growth spurt. After two feedings today, he took his 4.5 ounces and then acted like he didn’t even eat them, he was still hungry.

The local Mothers of Multiples club that I joined does a few days of meal support for new moms and a very kind woman named Marisue dropped off a delicious dinner for me. I can’t way to pay it forward. For the next two days, club members will bring us dinner so we don’t have to worry about it. Perfect for the last weekend before Bill heads back to the office.

We have great friends too. Thanks Christine for picking up our Bountiful Basket this morning, and thank you Virginia for coming by to be extra hands while Bill was out this afternoon.

Last picture for the day, the “Binky Corral”. You have to keep a supply of these things handy for when they end up on the floor covered in dog hair.

Week 12 – Day 4 – Photo Fun Friday!

Happy Friday! Lots of pictures to share today so I will get right to it. Brendan was 8lbs 12oz for the nurse today. She thought that his color looked great and his lungs sounded crystal clear.

We had a good night, I think I might have managed 4 hrs of sleep although not consecutive hours. I decided to update a few photo series.

Trevor in daddy’s riding gear:

Babies in the sink pictures:

Brendan had a tough morning and wasn’t in to the bath so much today

Mirror Baby:

Brendan peers right through the mirror baby illusion, he isn’t fooled like his gullible twin

Giant Teddy Bear Pictures:

Brendan was pretty tired after his bath and wasn’t real excited about giant bear

It looks like Trevor is praying that the bear won’t eat him!

Just don’t move, maybe it will go away!
