Week 23 – Day 5

Brendan was extremely sedated when Gramma and I visited today. His poor little head also looked like it had swollen a lot. The doctor ordered that he be moved in to his chair where he could be more elevated to help his Glenn circulation. If it is not better by tomorrow, they are going to do an ultrasound to check his veins.
The trach ties and lying too flat are probably giving him trouble, so I hope that elevating him is all that is necessary.

Trevor got some cute pictures outside today in his new hat. This is the last time he will wear his little sandals. Newborn size is too small now, his toes were hanging out the end!

Week 23 – Day 4

I am too tired for too many words, so there are lots of pictures for today! We had a family meeting and discussed Brendan’s home goals. He has 3-4 more weeks in the hospital if things go very well, and Brendan and everyone else has tons of work to do to get us there.

Brendan and his buddies

Gramma came with me to the hospital today, it had been quite a while since she saw Brendan.

Trevor has a new buddy in the bath, he makes bath time lots of fun

Trevor was going to wear this exceptionally cute outfit today, but blurp happens and he had to change in less than 10 minutes.

Gramma bought him a new hat, he had to make “something new” face

Getting ready to show everyone what he can do now

Week 23 – Day 3

Brendan was given some breathing challenges today, the ventilator was set to do nothing but give him his PEEP support to keep his lungs open and he was on 60% oxygen. He did pretty well for the two hour “sprint” although about halfway through, they had to give him a little more pressure support because he was breathing too fast. He is going to be given challenges every day so that he does not get used to letting the machine do all of the work for him.
As soon as his trach is healed, he is going to get lots of tummy time.

He was in a good mood today.

He let me know when he was done with me

He was awake and interacting with me for hours again, then finally drifted off for a nap.

Although, something in his dream was still pretty funny

Trevor had a super big day today, he got to go outside in the backyard and do laps up and down the patio (in the shade!) in his cool new stroller. He really is starting to notice and love his dogs. The dogs were thrilled to chase Gramma and Trevor up and down the patio!!

I interrupted flying time with the camera
