Week 34 – Day 7

Since Trevor got up at 5:15am for his breakfast and bath, Gramma missed it and had to bathe Brendan instead!

He listened intently to the rules of playing the turtle kicking game. He booted the turtles off of the sink divider for the first time today. Trevor would be proud.

Trevor is doing his own new things now

He rocks back and forth so far… we are going to have trouble soon, he will get it figured out!

Brendan got all packed up to go to see his pediatrician

He was in the Spongebob themed room in the doctor’s office today. The doctor was very pleased with how well he is doing at home. Brendan was supposed to get immunizations today, but he was spared at the last minute! The pediatrician did not want to have any possible side effects interfere with Brendan’s Friday appointment with the GI surgeon. He is having a consult about his ostomy reversal so we want no setbacks! Brendan will get his shots next week!

Trevor stayed home and played with Gramma.
“I don’t know how I got both Captains on my swing while Brendan was away!”

The boys did have some play time together. Brendan loves for Trevor to visit his crib.

Week 34 – Day 6 – Happy Father’s Day

We were hoping to get a nice picture of Bill and the boys together for Father’s Day, we were even going to put Brendan in a cute outfit. It just never worked out today. Aunt Heather was with us for the night, and we managed to get one quick picture of them all together before they went to visit Grandpa Jack.

Brendan took a nice nap this morning, but the whole afternoon both boys refused to take their nap!

Overtired Trevor had quite a pouty lip going on

Brendan did have a good sprint off the vent today. He went just shy of two hours and was in a great mood the whole time.

Overall, Trevor was in a good mood today with WAY less tummy trouble. The formula seems to have made a drastic difference so far. In a few more days, we will see how he is doing. He had some silly time tonight too.

Brendan had some lingering effects from drug changes and needed a lot of extra attention today. It was exhausting. At least we have nurse coverage tonight and will be able to get some sleep! Brendan goes to see his pediatrician tomorrow so it ought to be another extra super busy day.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads and granddads and soon-to-be dads, hope you had a great day!

Week 34 – Day 5

The blog is very late tonight! Brendan had drug changes yesterday which led to a pretty rough morning today and then that gets him off schedule and his sleep pattern gets out of whack. He is finally down for the night (I hope!)

Trevor has had such trouble with tummy pain that today I decided to try him on the same formula that they just switched Brendan to, Gerber Good Start Gentle. If he makes drastic improvement in the next 4-5 days with his digestion and issues, then I will know that he has an intolerance to something I am eating. My diet is pretty out of control because I eat whatever I can get my hands on when I have a moment to think about it. It is a good thing tonight because I have had a 5hr energy drink and two cans of “Dr Thunder” cola to stay awake enough to take care of Brendan’s needs. We still have no weekend night nurse so last night and tonight are all on us. Trevor doesn’t need that kind of caffeine and junk exposure. He is eating solids three times a day now and his milk consumption is going down. So far he has transitioned well, it will be nice to get sweet mellow cuddly Trevor back if we can get rid of this discomfort. I feel pretty good for having been able to give him breastmilk for almost 8 months, but I will be sad to find out that all this time his struggle has been my milk’s fault.

Trevor likes to be upside down now!

Brendan’s swelling is starting to go down and he is looking more like himself every day.

Trevor thought maybe this was a big straw

Brendan felt well enough for a short time today to have some floor time with his bro!

He plays more and more every day. He is starting to use his legs a tiny bit more and is slowly getting stronger.
“Now where is that pesky lion?”

There he is! Nom, nom, nom!

This pose cracks me up!

Hopefully the boys both have a great day tomorrow, they are due!
