Week 34 – Day 2

We tried to keep things calm and easy today since yesterday was so busy. Brendan slept for a good long part of the morning. Trevor fought his naps as usual! For an “easy” day, I am awfully pooped!

Brendan is chewing everything he can to try to get those teeth to come through.

Gramma went all out trying to keep Trevor happy.

The boys did get some crib time together

They read their books together

They are cute together.

This picture made me yawn!

Both boys are asleep right now, we’ll see how long that lasts!

Week 34 – Day 1

Today was Brendan’s first big excursion since his ambulance ride home. He had to go to the hospital for a cardiac checkup and an echocardiogram. I have to say I am proud of him for how well he did with the packing, the car trip and the clinic visit. He got super mad about the echo and getting that gel all over himself. He especially didn’t like them pushing so hard on his belly.

His NP gave him this cute shirt when he got discharged, so he had to put it on to go see her today. It is very fitting for Brendan!

He had the whole whale double stroller to himself and all his gear

“um.. this is questionable tube placement”

Brendan weighed 17lbs 13oz today. He got really good comments from all the staff and saw a couple of his favorite nurses.

We have to pass the weird rabbit on the second floor.

While Brendan had a super busy day with his travelling and then a trach tube change, Trevor got to spend the day alone with Gramma.

Trevor has a ton of energy in the evenings and moves a LOT. He is a blur to photograph.

We were all too tired to cook tonight. Good thing that there is a great place for fish’n’chips to go just a mile down the road. mmmmmmmmmm

Days like today are mentally exhausting. I am just relieved to report that Brendan’s echo went very well. His results were all positive. His heart function is normal, no leaky valves, no narrowing of vessels, no signs of trouble. Woohooo!

Week 33 – Day 7

Pictures today are bath themed. The boys both got a nice bath and had a mostly good day. There were some meltdowns and discomfort for both of them, but good times and plenty of smiles too. Tomorrow morning, we prep Brendan for his first travel to the hospital for a follow up exam and echocardiogram. He used to like the carseat and the car, we will see how he does!

Trevor bathes with an elaborate flashing fountain today

He still has to take a drink from the faucet

Squish the baby fish face!

Until we snapped the shorts closed on Trevor’s onesie, it looked like a muumuu

He didn’t like his outfit being called a muumuu

Brendan had an afternoon good enough to enjoy his bath time too.

He heard from Trevor that you should boot the turtle toys around.

No matter what he is doing, he finds a way to rub his little tooth buds.

He can’t get in the shower like Trevor

Hyper time Brendan!

Brendan is still obviously bothered by something causing him discomfort enough to wake him from a deep sleep. He also has random bursts of crying so you rush over to pick him up. Then he looks sideways at you with a big smile, with tears still running from the corners of his eyes. He must be learning some games from his brother.

Trevor is doing gymnastics in his crib. He rolls over and backs up and gets his legs tangled in the rails and then cries. He won’t roll over during tummy time on the rug though.

We hope all goes well with the travelling tomorrow and Brendan gets a good checkup!!
